The doubles players mainly play with the Aerothunder 65/66 and Aerohurricane 72/73. Their singles players like Hayom and Bella play with Aeroprestige 90.
I still use Pro850 and own 2 more Pro800, 1 brand new. Awesome even balance rackets that impresses everyone who borrowed mine before, at all levels (newbie or veterans alike). There are still good rackets in the new series but all of them are >$100 :cryingie top of the lines from Astec) compared to Pro850 which were priced around $50 at their last selling prices.
Hi brothers... Iffara here from Singapore. Is there a distributor here in Singapore for Astec products. Can provide me with some info. Thank you...=)
Maybe you can ask your friends at Batam to purchase for you. Aero Prestige 90S that using by Simon about Rp. 1.818.000,- ( price list ). Do some bargain for good prices.
I used to be fan of Astec racket during in their Pro800 series. Then years later purchased pair of Aero Hurricane 50s & 51s. One of them frame-broke at 12 clock during the clear shot which exactly hit on the sweet spot. All i can speculate/assume now, other than Aero Prestige (which price the same as Yonex/Victor hi-end racket -- why would you opt for this brand when you can get better brand at the same price?), the mid to low-end models are not as durable as it was when they first started! Also i notice, all 3U Astec rackets are head-light to even-balance racket (280 - 295mm) with flex-stiff. Only the 4U rackets have option for BP 300mm or 295mm.
I suggest you try out the Aero Prestige if you have the opportunity and find out why customers are willing to pay a premium for this model I didn't buy the Aero Prestige as its too heavy for me. I am presently using the Aerothunder 65/66 (many thanks to my source mongoose) and they rock! Each racket cost approx USD100. Not sure if you consider these models to be mid/low end but I understand the Djarum doubles players are using them. And I must say they are very durable. My doubles partner's AT900 clashed with my Aerothunder but there was not even a scratch on my racket. Planning to get Gloria's racket next
and what model does Gloria use currently? I could see that you're pretty much an avid fan of Astec *shakehand I wanna ask if you happen to know the details, what is the difference between : 1. Aerostorm Pro 81S 2. Aerolegend Alan Budikusuma 3. Aeroprestige 90S To me they all seems the same. Midplus aeroframe, aeroleap, BP, energyshaft (stiff flexibility), and weighing about the same. Espescially no.1 and no.2 even similiar metallic yellow frame color
Just have information from someone at Indonesia National Team and one Astec staff, will be launched Astec 91S in short. Specification of this racket will be more heavy and more head heavy compared to Astec 90S. Colour still same but have minor change at silver strip frame to gold colour. Looking at Astec 90s that provided by Aramistuscany Astec 90S review. Specs: Weight (g) : 88-90 (3U) Length (mm) : 675 Balance (mm) : 290 +/- 2 Shaft Flex : 8.5 +/- 0.1, Stiff Frame : Iso + Mid Plus Recommended Tension : 28 lbs Technology : Astec Aeroleap Technology, Midplus Aero Frame System
Also watch out for a new head heavy and stiff 2014 model from Astec. I understand that it is 3U weight and has a balance point of 298 +/- 2 mm! That's definitely a "quantum" leap from Astec to produce such a head heavy racquet!
Fuwaaahhhh..brother BengGuan. That is cool. I just stared with Astec. Loving the specs. Going to buy and explore the brand more.
I just bought the Astec Aero Storm Pro 81s and Aero Lightning 55s.... Loving them so much.... Iffara from Singapore
