Do you know how long you've had your WISE kwun? I have just recently ticked over my 600th with the WISE at just a wee bit over 21 months with it.

Hopefully there's no "shelf-life" on the WISE. I've loved every single bit of it.:p

To add to ckyew, since January 2012 I've done 772 string jobs with my Wise. I've been very pleased with the craftsmanship and value out of this device.

Kwun, if you do decide to open up the wise 2086, can i make request of putting up a video of disassembly and reassembly of the machine? I'm keep reading about a mechanism they put if you open up the machine. A picture would help out a lot in the event my machine needs servicing.

    504 stringjobs only. :(

which when averaged out, means that it cost me around $1 per stringjob. i guess not that biggie, but i had hope for it to last much longer.

and of course that also means that anyone who is anywhere near professional should forget about the WISE as they will probably go through that amount in a couple of months.

Thanks Kwun! I realized my post had some very poor an incoherent grammar and incomplete sentences. My apologies.

What i meant was that other threads discussed a security mechanism inside the Wise2086 if it is opened up (I think Tedski has opened it up in the past).

A picture/video of said security mechanism would be helpful to the DIY'ers as a last resort should Wise customer service be unable to help with servicing the machine.

    Take your time!

Thanks for this post! I had to do a repair on my Wise, a part for the 3.5 mm switch broke but it's all good now.

    Thanks!

My Wise is acting up. I wonder if there's anywhere within Canada that I can ship it to for servicing instead of shipping it out directly to Tesion Head?

Not in Canada. There is a place in the US that does stringing machine repairs, but I don't know if they do the WISE.

    Thanks for the info, yan.v

I'm looking to see if I can avoid the cost associated with shipping directly to Tension Head. The red button on the gripper isn't working properly. Maybe getting a replacement gripper would fix the problem.

Have you checked the jack plug behind the unit ? If the plug isn't broken or loose, then getting a replacement button should be pretty cheap and it's very easy to install back on. It's only held there by 4 screws.

If you are looking for a replacement for the red button, I have made quite a few of these:

Does anyone know how/where the load cell is connected? It does not seem to be anywhere near the head and lead screw. Pics would be really nice. Thanks.

    kwun,

Since it has been over a year now, what eventually happened with your Wise?

I have had mine for just over 2 years, have strung 316 badminton/tennis racquets since July 2013 and so far still going good.

I've had my Wise since January 2012. To date, I've strung 1,594 badminton rackets with it. Like John, mine is still chugging along.
