I feel what KKK did was silly and uncalled for.

Wow! A yellow card for illegal drinking, then a red card for a stroll around the court?! At 19 all, rubber match?!

    This is some harsh sh1t!

It's called rightly enforcing the law and not let the player do whatever thinks he can do without regard for the rules. They cant just keep skating on thin ice and expect to get away with it time and time again. They want to win, they need to improve their fitness.

This rule has never been enforced by many umpires. If this match sets a new standard for umpiring, then it would be good for badminton and all, especially in bigger finals involving a few players who like to delay their serve and walk around court, but if all these delaying tactics are continued to be used despite this incident then it would seem like a one-off thing and KKK/TBH should not have been judged so harshly.

Read what demolidor say in daily thread
This umpire is the most strict I have heard. Normally they give warning 2 to 3 times before even give yellow card. If like that, a lot of the players will have red card already. In 2010 WC, the umpire (whom I think is rather strict), warned CHai Biao 2 times I think, 2nd time very stern(to be fair, CB didnt seem to understand what was said in English), then only give yellow card. In daily thread, another member give example uncles CTF/LWW, one of them like to delay2, happen many times, umpire warn & warn, then only give yellow card.

Red card...hmm, players kick the side signboard also just yellow card. If want have, need standard rules, not different2 between umpires.

Never saw a yellow card in that exchange at 20-20. Tan Kim Her also mentions in his interview it was a straight red card ... (ridiculous!).

TBH mentioned abt the yellow card - interview in malay. The part where KKK asked for towel break/drink, umpire did see it, not happy, KKK put down the water. THen TBH said (at 20-20), he asked to mope court, umpire said no, they walk 1 round around the court, delay 1 to 2 sec only. Then umpire give red card. THat's why coach TKH also like stunned., want to report

To all the people who said that KKK/TBH deserved it, I would only say that they deserve it if the rules are standardized. Or else this is just plain unfair judgement.

Yes I was just listening again but now with headphones ;). Must have happened so fast I missed it, normally it would be pretty obvious. Maybe paid more attention to TBH asking for court wipe ... So KKK took a drink without permission and got yellow card apparently first. But the weird thing is he gave KKK a red card when it was TBH asking for the court to be wiped? At most KKK was making the umpire aware that TBH was asking for it ... (then again, cards probably count for the pair? so doesn't matter in that case if the rule is as such)
Too bad the video recording for download already stops at 7-4 in the 3rd :D. I wanted to record the 3rd set since that was all that was shown on BWIN (after the lazy operator for the xteenth time didn't start it on time) but thought our regular providers would have the complete match.

IMO this is a blessing in disguise for them, as they can now blame the umpire for their early exit instead of taking responsibility for their stamina and fitness. ;)

Not sure what happened yesterday but what coach Tan Kim Her should have done was to get up and start screaming at the umpire and speak for his men just like other sports (american football, basketball, tennis, soccer..etc) Thats the fun of watching and I feel players have all the rights to act and react, not simply acting like a robot.

Hello BWF, can you do something about it?
