HI all, My style and current racket: Current racket: BS12 Type of player: controls the tempo of the game. Wristy player. about 70% wrist, 30% arm. Game: Mostly men doubles Style: plays both forward and back. Strength at the front. What i feel is lacking with my current go to racket: Lacking abit of oomph to my smashes although i can do pretty well with my BS12. What I am looking for: A back court racket with slighty increase in stiffness than BS12 and the increase in oomph on my smash without losing too much control. Currently i am looking at F9/ MX JJS/ C7. What do u all think? I am open to other ideas
Victor Thruster K-8000 ...seriously. Although the racket is advertised as medium stiffness, it's similar to VT 80 and enjoyable to play with.
There's no way those two rackets play the same, one is medium stiff and the other much stiffer. I know as I have a VT80 and have borrowed a Thruster from the store to compare.
visor mine plays the same as well. Probably cause the Vt-80 is head heavier so during play it feels as whippy as the Thruster. I play with both 8-10 hours a week!
You sounded very much like me, except I use my arm more often. I have all 3 of the rackets that you've mentioned above (3U): F9, MX-JJS and C7. My pick would the the F9. You can look at my previous short review here: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...x-JJS-or-Kason-twister-C7-or-Kason-twister-F9
visor Lol you're obsessed with the xp-70! But wow, it's less stiff than the mx70? Could you also compare the stiffness with the bs10 (the 5/5 stiffness version)? I've never tried the mx70 or 60.
hehe ... hmmm... no, I've never played with a bs10, but I've read that it's quite stiff (perhaps more than mx70) due to it's balanced bp
Victor's scale of stiffness doesn't comply with Yonex's racket measurements. For instance, MX-JJS and VT 80 are rated stiff, yet MX JJS is noticeably stiffer.
it's such a head heavy high bp racket that I can't compare to the mx and xp series... comparing to the similar vt series, it felt more like vt70 to me than vt80 in terms of head heaviness and flexibilty
Finally someone that agrees with my assessment! But the JJS probably feels stiffer cause it is not as head heavy as the Vt-80. I gave the JJS just under 15 hours of play and I could not get used to how stiff it felt. Although I'm intrigued with the Legend II which is rated 4/5 for stiffness and 5/5 for head heaviness. With Catapult technology it should feel like a stiffer TK8000!
I am in the same boat is OP. I do have a AT-700 (1st Gen), AT-900P (sold), Li-Ning N80 both are head heavy though after playing with the BS-12N, can't really play with the AT-700 (too slow)....OP can try the BS-15, BS-11KRP or BS-12 KRP both are head heavy and stiffer than the BS-12 and lose any of the speed.
