There are quite a few stars from HK/TW, used to be pro athletes, before entering the entertainment business. Sze Yu might be the one achieved the highest level during his sports career. Another one i can think, is Yu, Xiaofan (chinese pinyin), I believe she used to be a volleyball player.
Sze Yu is a very good person Greetings, Yes, I had a game against Sze Yu in 1986 at the Macquarie University Badminton Club, Sydney, Australia and I found that he is a very good person. Cheers... chris@ccc
i never knew that he was a badminton player!!! i watched him bfore in many chinese soap dramas especially from chiung yao's story-- 'three flowers' and another two series with yue ling!!! but that was years ago.
this is a bit of a bump....any information on Sze Yu father?? Mr Sze? hes coaching a few of my training partners at the moment and he used to coach the Aus national squad. Just wondering did he ever play international level at all? achievements etc if anyone has the info
Hi, if you live in brisbane, Mr sze is currently living there, because i train with him at the moment, Mr sze used to be in the 1st chinese national team, it was made up of 4 people, me sze was one of them.
Mr Sze Ning Ong still is coaching . So Mr Sze Ning Ong (the father) is currently in Brisbane, Queensland. He has been everywhere in Australia. The last time I caught up with him was when he was coaching at Newcastle, in New South Wales, and then Altona, in Victoria. .
Yes, Mr. Sze went to China from Indonesia and was one of the best in the 60's I believe. He still can beat Clinton of course... lol...
Yes, he is a really nice guy. I remember back then that a group of us from UNSW were going ice skating at the new ice rink at Macquarie Shopping Centre. We invited him to come and skate, but he declined as he did not want to risk any possible injury to his ankles. However, I remember that he did pop in to see us skate. Here is something I found some time ago, cleaning out my magazines. The front cover of Badminton Sidelines magazine and then page 5 of the magazine.
