not sure how to classify me.. original rightie... but fell when i was 7 and 'broke' my right arm.went to school and then 'viola'... became a Leftie. so, i writes and plays badminton with left. and then...same same with yankiat.. bowling and basket - right... lol...
The ratio of champions The ratio of left-handed champions will be higher than the ratio left to right.
right-handed but throw and pick up objects with the left hand. suspect i am born a leftie but forced to go right by my parents. they wont admit, tho. bowling, snooker/pool with left. and also.... ahem..... both hands.
LEFT or RIGHT - How to tell: Seeing that we are talking about racket arm here, if you are not sure what is your true hand, here is a useful guide: Roll a piece of paper into a tube and tape it. Ask someone to then give it to you, and then place it to your eye - like using a telescope. Note the position: 1. Left hand nearest to left eye - most likely left-handed with left eye dominant. 2. Right hand nearest to left eye - could be right and left-handed, but left eye is dominant. The other way round for other eye.
kh. I am curious. When you write with both hands (or one at a time), do you write (Left page, Left hand), then (Right page, Right hand)? In other words, left hand writes only on a left page, and right hand only writes on a right page? Example, using an exercise book.
Oh, I meant that I can use both hand to write but not at the same time. Yeah, I write the left page with my left and vice versa, but thats when i'm not lazy. I use my left hand when i need to write really fast.
Interesting. I know someone else who writes page-handed. He is brilliant at software. Maybe you got a career there. It took me a while to realise why I do some things left and some things right. So all two-handed tools and sports (baseball, cricket) and guitar, I am right-handed. Single tools, rackets, left-handed. Left-handed gadgets make great presents. Give someone right-handed a left-handed cork screw or a ruler. Hahaha, endless puzzlement.
Thanks to you all so far. Many interesting combinations. Have you ever wondered what is the root cause of handedness? It goes back a long way in evolution, though there may be an inherent biological cause of a species developing handedness. Though once the % drifts to right handed, then it is bound to stay that way because of parent / child teaching. I particularly enjoy driving right-hand-drive cars - the gear shift and clutch are on the same side of the body, which makes for excellent coordination and control.
In cars with driver's seat on the right, the gear shift and clutch pedal are both positioned for the left of the body - gear shift, left hand - clutch pedal left foot (same side of the body for best coordination). Many countries use driving on the left with right-hand drive cars. It's like the overhead shots - hit with left arm, kick with the left leg. I'm a kick ass driver.
left and right hander i think it should be close to 90% - 10% the best and fastest results to get is looking at courts where many people are playing and ask coaches or even teachers in my group there are more than a hundred trainees and left hander to not come up to 10% in my courts, out of 39 courts hardly see 10% left hander! one time i ask a few teachers in schools they all agree not many per hundred even less than 10%
