Default Ankle and Knee Braces - need help

Hi all,

Just wanted to get an idea of what everyone uses for badminton.

Ever since rolling my ankle severely many years ago, it has never been the same. I am always afraid of rolling it again and try as I may, I have a minor ankle injury every so often due to the lack of strength.

Last year, I suffered a knee strain and now my knee is subjected to the same condition. It feels week and would sometimes "buckle" during an intense game.

Right now, I am using a very basic ankle guard and nothing for my knee. Is there any product that comes highly recommended among badminton players to support/protect the ankle and knees?

Thanks

Thanks. Which kind do you use specifically? Does it restrict your range of motion?

Will see if my local sporting shop has these items.

I used that for a few weeks. However, it constantly slipped due to sweat. It felt good when it was on correctly but having to constantly adjust it stopped me from using it.

Hope you have better luck. Any protection is better than nothing.

I have had major surgery on my knee and am now using the New Options brace with addtional straps http://supportsusa.com/knee/hinged/index.htm
I also have hinged Mueller and Bike braces as well, but this one has a U shaped pad that sits on the knee cap and also additional velcro straps that hold it in place. I found most stores don't carry these braces and they are usually special ordered from a mobility physiotherapist at double and triple the price.

Ayiee, i did not see using your knee support last 3 weeks when we played. if known i would recommend u to buy a roll of 5cm width elastic straps from guardian (rm5.90 per roll). u will then be able to adjust the tensile and positioning of the strapping to your liking when wrapping around your knee. prefabricated straps although come in various sizes do not fit properly and in many cases takes time and well-worn to achieve a level of personal comfort.

Hi keong2, well I got it before the single session but got worse after that...maybe because or overweight and overuse of muscle.

That Ebene knee support got heating and can stimulate blood circulation (read it in the box ha ha ha). U can try also Futuro knee support...Both items easily can be found at your local Guardian/Pharmacy Shop...

Anyway I think I'm free this weekend...if got that single session maybe I'll join if fit enough.
