Thanks for the informations I have also a Arc10PG > I look forward to reading your impression between the two rackets
FYI: the BS LYD is the most expensive Victor racket here in Vietnam, more expensive then the BS 10,11, 15 (about 30USD more) not so many ppl've tried and reviewed the BS LYD so far. I'm using and in love wit BS11 3u. unfortunately it got a crack during my playing time last night so I guess I have to start looking for replacement. any ideas on the BS LYD, it looks so tempting. FYI: I'm a 100% men double rackets with aggressive mind, I smash most of the time I can but I am not a strong arm-swing player. I love the quickness of BS11 but it may lack a bit of power Thks NR
Is the racket smaller in terms of the head like a z-slash? which one should i go for bs12 or bs-lyd? i currently have an Arcsaber8dx.. need another alternative racket since it's getting dull.
Why are u looking at 3 different stiffness racquet? bs12-mid flex bs-lyd slightly stiff and u are currently using an extra stiff racquet... 8DX
i want an alternative racket cause the 8dx doesn't really give a pack of a punch at the back court. want to pick the bs-lyd for it's head heavy aspect but still in a dilemma due to its frame size. i have an apac lethal 70 too and tend to like head heavy racket back due to its extra power
What do you mean 'due to its frame size'? The head is about 3-4mm shorter than a regular BS, but the same width, so I'd be surprised if you even notice. It's not like it's a Z-Slash!
THANKS! that's all i need to know, about the head size. since it's not like a z-slash. Thank you again!
I recently got my BS LYD now, finally. 3U, DEL-coded (Germany). Strung with VS850 at 10,5kg. I'll give a review as soon as possible. But what i've noticed is: The frame size IS SMALLER than my Arcsaber10. Both ways! Vertical AND horizontal! :-S Don't have a comparison possibility with z-slash, but it seem to be identically smaller than other rackets. Well, anyways. We will see how much this smaller head matters. It's not much shorter, but it seem to be that wide as other usual isometric rackets. Its finish looks great, btw
I came to check the BS LYD this morning... and found out that the racket is made in Victor factory in China. It's still developed by Victor taiwan but no longer made in taiwan as the BS10, BS11. It's clearly stated on wrap of original grip. NR
Is that 1 of the contributory factor for increase in price of Victor racquets? Not sure bout other countries... but prices of Victor raquets in Malaysia went up like sky rocket. For instance, year 2011 MX80 was around RM4xx(around $150); then this year 2012 went up to almost rm600(almost $200) But weird, if Victor is to produce their racquets in China I suppose their cost should decrease thus prices should be remain... AH! confused...
I'm looking forward to getting a LYD for review although sadly the first batch into Europe are sold out so now I have to wait for the next shipment. I'll be testing Meteor 70 and Meteor 60 very soon and writing reviews on these within the next few weeks. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
changing manufacturing from taiwan to china should have minimal impact in cost of racquet (ignoring cost of relocation).
For people in the Uk Central Sports is selling the Victor Bravesword Lee Yong Dae for £100 http://www.centralsports.co.uk/shop.php?page=victord&product=12231 I would also think twice before ordering it from Central Sports after an incident was experienced to someone on this forum with their Victor racket and Central Sports.
What do you mean with "incident"? Had already a training-session with my BS LYD. No serious match. But the first impression is satisfying. The bp of 295mm (with string and overgrip) seem to perfectly for me, but next time I have to grip it with 50% overlap due the grip size S2. This probably will take some mm bp ;-( Whatever, it cuts quite nice through the air. I think it's a little bit faster than my Arc10. I also had no problems with the smaller head size - didn't miss hit that much. And what I really like is the feeling of the racket. Maybe the string (VS850) matters a lot. Whatever. 1 hour is not enough to write more about it. I just let you know what I'm thinking of this racket as soon as possible. But my first impression was nice.
Ordered that from Central Sports last Friday, will be arriving tmr. What do you mean by incident? Any link?
