At first i thought there's quiet a bit of vibration. But now..don''t feel it at all. Must have gotten used to it. Very good control. Still a bit pain to the arm though....and a lot of pain to the wallet.
For the past 3 plus years, I have been using Yonex Nanospeed 8000. After reading all the reviews, I decided to give this new Yonex Nanospeed 9900 a try. It's been two weeks now and here's my thought. String used: BG65 at 26 lbs with 10% pre-stratch. With 2 Yonex over grips. These are exact same setup as my NS 8000. Holding the this racket for very first time, NS 9900 has more solid feeling than NS 8000. It feels just slightly head heavier than NS 8000. Clear - is effortless. Drive - I feel NS 8000 is better Drop - about the same Smash - More powerful than 8000 I play 80% double and 20% single. It's a great racket. I'm switching.
An update on the durability. Had a massive clash during doubles play. Partner (left-handed) did a forehand smash defense return.. i was going to do a back hand return. We clashed massively.. i was thinking.. my gosh.. its gone.. fortunately my NS9900 2UG5 JP survived.. surprisingly no chip.. felt a small scratch. But my partner's racket broke.
It gets better, so it plays great and can fight with other rackets like the old Carbonex series. Sorry to hear about your partner's racket though.
My student got a good promo deal at $300sgd. 2 pieces left. Feels ok but still back to your skill. Good luck. I bet the next model will be 9901. It'll get a 1 percent better rating as more new models launched. haha. I believe every player has a different feel. Some say its too light and some say its heavy. So, do make up your mind. I wonder it will ever hit 11/10 in the future.
Ok I been using the NANOSpeed9900 The whole night yesterday ... the more i use the more i feel it's really head light ...... the even balance feeling is there.. but really need a fast swing to generated the power for my smash ... I am comparing this to my 3u Arc Saber 10. but i did string it at a lower tension .. 21x23.
you might need more sessions to generate the power it wields i also switched from an arc10 and have no regrets so far but still need more time to adjust =]
well i got a New ARC10 2U which i think that it has tons of power...... i kind of like it but did not get much chance to use it . due to my sore shoulder maybe a 2U ns9900 will be a more powerful weapon ... gosh i am geting addicted to 2U now ..... well will try the NS9900 more when my shoulder is less sore.
Me likey the photo... Thanks Ants! But... it just doesn't seem to look as pretty as the NS9000X picture you made a few years ago...
Just wondering, who hit who? In most cases, if you hit your partner racket in defending smash, mostly his/her racket will has major problem (even broke).
