Bai Song's partner is Darry who is Singaporean, single player. Sembawang fielded Xie Ming for single game and won. He played mix double in last round. If Bai Song could partner with Syafiq or Xie Ming, then can likely win the men's doubles. If Li Yu Jia can recover early enough to play mix and let Jiang Yan Mei play single, then can secure a win in lady's single. But too late. Haha...
Even w/o Li Yu Jia, but if they field Jiang Yan Mei for WS, Xie Ming for MS, Bai Song/Syafiq for MD, and give up XD, i think they may have higher chance for winning the game in this case

YCK should have won the MS but the TPC player had excellent fighting spirit and never gave up. YCK's MD is an experienced pair (your friends Loh?) and they were stronger on paper but I thought they played too defensively. TPC's Adrian was the better player of the pair and was too quick for his opponents. Congratulations to Toa Payoh Central
Not sure why Mountbatten's Wei Ping didnt turn up for the semi-finals but it would have been a tough match for the botak Chinese player in the Mens Singles. Would be interesting to see a matchup between Bai Song/Syafiq and Mountbatten's Guorui/Alvin. Maybe we will see this at the CSC tournament. My predictions for the finals/3rd, 4th placing: 1st - Mountbatten 2nd - Toa Payoh Central 3rd - Sembawang 4th - Yio Chu Kang
You are absolutely right. My friends played too defensively indeed and I'm disappointed that the younger Kai Sin did not capitalize on his big smash. I'm not sure whether the YCK MD has been playing long together though. Even then TPC put up a more impressive fight and took every opportunity to attack.

Mountbatten is Champion Mountbatten was crowned champion of the Community Games 2011 Badminton when it defeated Toa Payoh Central 3-0, I was informed. I arrived rather late to watch the final stages of the XD. Sembawang beat Yio Chu Kang to secure third placing, apparently by a similar margin. The finals was quite well supported. Mr Lee Yi Shyan, Minister of State and SBA President gave away the prizes. This annual event finally came to a close and proved to be popular with the badminton community. The tournament was hotly contested over a period of more than a month. Social badminton players all over Singapore converge to pit their skills against one another and in the process got to know more friends. I think it has been very successful. We have to wait for another year to see battle again.
Hi Loh, thanks for the nice pictures. I will download for my momery. Haha... Btw, Mountbatten defeated Toa Payoh Central 4-0, as 2 matches were played at the same time. Sembawang beat Yio Chu Kang 3-0. So it proved that top 3 teams are Mountbatten, Sembawang & Yew Tee. If any 2 of the above 3 were playing in final, then the matches would be much more exciting to watch. Hope next year 3 of them will not be in same half again. Haha... Btw, look at Sudirman cup, the more exciting matches like Men's double, mix double were played first. This is more exciting and reasonable actually. Don't know what the organizers were thinking to let veteran play first. Should always let young people fight first as they never tired and reserve energy for older folks. Thus young guys can gain experience and improve. This year the committee wanted to let young guys rest and let older folks to gain more experience? I have to say that this is really a stupic arrangement.
Were you in pic 2 sitting on the first row with the Sembawang players in red? I thought I saw you but can't be sure, hahaha. Thanks for the actual scores. When I arrived I was actually a bit puzzled why the same two teams were playing on two courts and their t-shirts are almost of the same colour light green. Now you've clarified for me. Mountbatten would still have won in 3 matches, instead of 4 though. I agree that they should make it more exciting to let the young players play first, at least for the semifinals and finals. Yes the draw has much to influence the end-result and I hope next year the draw will be more balanced.

Yes I thought so you are the guy and that's why I reproduced another bigger pic 7 above to confirm! I have seen your famous two ladies many times before, including when they were training at the old SBA Hall. BTW Alex Kok, shown in one of the above pics (second last pic pointing his finger), who is a reserve in the Sembawang team also plays in our social team.
