It was very powerful and had great touch... for all of 10 minutes that I played with it because it snapped on a simple block mishit. And I was only using 23lbs. Now with zm65 for plastic at 23lbs, it has lasted well over 20 hrs of play.
Am currently playing with yellow ZyMax 65 @ 25lb on my ancient Yonex MusclePower99. Am really liking it, feel is noticeably better than 67. Only about 10 hours in, so no idea how long it'll retain useful tension. However, does appear to be durable against off-center hits (of which I make a few). As we're in the summer-season, I was weighing up giving ZM62 a go, though was concerned about its durability. dbswansea. Where are you getting your strings from? Stringer's world?
Nice! Guess ill have to order some as well. Wanna try them out on my VT80 PG Its nice with the Zymax 65 Red, but think black will look even nicer against the white frame.
first try out ZM65, lose tension first day then stay the same for the last whole week, very different from YY, previously use BG66 Ultimax and NGB98. first day of use, don't like much, due to hardness of zm65 compare to bg 66 or ngb98, but after the string settle, I start to fell in love with it, in red color, turned pink at some spots, strung at 24x24 lbs. after 1 week lose as much as 1lb the most. the string feel rough, but it move a bit more than YY gg or 98, don't know it's stringer fault or string type. but many previous review already mention this.
ZM62 lasted me about 2.5 hours last night with some intense battle of the smashers gameplay. I just picked up my racket too from stringer. I liked the feeling of it. At 25main/27cross it was awesome Not as soft as BG66UM but for $5 a pack of ashaways im more than willing to adjust to it.
you should wait a while before playing with freshly strung rackets they have a tendency to break easier
Am up to approx. 20 hours on my set of ZM65. Tension (started @25lb) and feel are still good. The initial hardness has softened and is comfortable. Strings are still sliding over one another a little, but there's no fraying. Still appears to tolerate mishits. Thought that I'd have to stick to ZM67 in order to get the durability, but am rapidly favouring ZM65. Better feel without compromising tension-hold or durability.
I'm not sure if I understand you here. What do you mean by strings sliding over one another? Can you explain that in details?
By 'sliding over one another' I meant that the strings move a few mm sideways. Not enough for a cross to move over another cross for example. Just enough to occasionally have to push them back between points. When I was a junior, when strings stopped being able to slide, it was because they'd worn grooves in the other strings. It was a sign that they were about to snap. I mentioned it in my update to indicate that the outer surface of the string appeared to still be in good condition. Hope that clarifies.
