i think he has a good chance

    he is on fire now...

Ha ha, ginseng root power probably! Yes, and it was ONLY 21-13, 21-13:).

Contrary to what TH said, I guess he still wants this WC badly (I mean if I were in his shoes, I'd aim for the nearest possible BIG-ger title to take on specially considering the mileage left in his legs.) than at the time when LD peaks in the Asian Games!

What can I say about LCW? Sometimes he gotta rest a little but I'm sure he'll be back with a vengeance at the AG; perhaps a Finals with LD.

I just checked...well, since I am a Taufik Hidayat fan I'm gonna say this:

Even if he performed badly on one of the competitions he enters on his last legs, I WOULDN'T WANT TO FAIL TO CAPTURE THE SUBTLETY AND MAGIC OF A SPORTING OCCASION where he plays in...so guess I'll have to dream on;)!

for taufik, the whole indonesia will wake up now

most of them thought taufik was history....

he just had a score of bad luck trailing him

remember him losing to peter 22-20, 20-22, 20-22?

that was totally unlucky but not today

lets hope he can get pass park first

Yes!! Finally, this is a very good opportunity for TH to get his second world championship!!
with LCW and LD out, Taufik should surely take this more seriously.

The point here again is not who would win the WC but more on Taufik's performance and importantly LD losses! Why all these winner awarding and age cheating bull****?

You should be proud of your fellow comrade.

Forget to add that I believed TH is 28 years old this year as registered with the BWF.

    i am sure he is

reaching the semi final after beating lcw in 3 games

sure is one great achievement of taufik

that is the main point, the moment to cherish...

and given this 'wake up call'

i think it will change taufik's decision to retire this year

if he has any plan for that.

most important i say its good for indonesia badminton

he has lost a lot of his popularity among the indonesian fans especially

    but now he is back!

let's give him a big applause!

    good point here

its like a stepping stone again for taufik

    as for age thing ...

does it really matter for players like taufik or even peter?

so long they are in serious competitive level and maintaining their top 5 positions

i say it has little to do with age.

with lin dan loss its a double boost for taufik!

but he has to overcome the new lin dan killer full of ginseng first ...

Hehehe.. the more accurate is, he is still popular in INA, but his INA fans now start to understand if he lose, while on the other hand, Sony and Simon technically are on par with him, so the burden is now shifted and shared to them.

..george, frankly, my answer is i'm neither happy nor unhappy. In other words, i don't care if he wins the WC again or not. Why? because he's won it before. IMO, there's no real significance for him to win it again. Been there and done that. Now, if he is about to win or on the cusp of winning the AE, then yeah, i will definitely be thrilled & pulling for him...that and the Sudirman Cup (which of course will be hard because it's a team event and we know how bad INA mixed team is right now). But even if TH never wins the SC title, i'd take an AE title to complete his individual major title collection..
If i'm a TH fan, i'd be jealous of LD and his achievements eenthough LD is still missing the AG MS title (to me, that title is not as important as it's not an IBF/BWF sanctioned event, even if OTB's fave ZhaoJH had won it twice before also);)

*As for those who still believe in TH's age as stated in BWF database, perhaps i can ask Hauge and a few other INA baddy followers (who actually have access to the INA players & personnel) to confirm w/you all abt Taufik's real age..but then again, it'll probably be useless as some of you guys still won't believe his real age..

you mean the indonesian fans still look at taufik on par with sony and simon?

with due respect to these 2 younger players

i thought taufik should be better than them

Yup the expectation is that high for SS and SDK to replace TH. Personally I think both had good chance to do that until series of injuries stopped their progress. I hope its not the case with Hayom, he should be able to become INA no.1

yes injuries are killing a lot of players' career

the latest case of mas md who went out in 1st round wc

can see 2 players with 3 legs running

anyway, hope hayom can come up fast

i like to see taller players in actions!
