Not bad for Misbun ramdan, he definately need a good result to give a break through to the malaysian badminton. meanwhile tan chun seang also need a breakthrough after losing his momentum last year. let see what they can do....
The unseeded Yuka Kusunose progressed into last four, will she cruise into finale once again? She will meet the agressive style Yip Pui Yin next, interesting to wait
And the defending MD champions as well as the US Open winners will not be able to defend their title as they fall to Ruud Bosch/Koen Ridder 9-21, 13-21
The Netherlands doubles teams have done very well in this tournament! We're getting down to the short strokes now; and its going to be a more mental thing. There's a chance we might see the two Thai MD teams in the finals -if that happens it will pitch former partners against each other! Carolina Marin could well script an upset tomorrow against the #1 seed Nitchaon Jindapol. And another big draw will be Misbun Ramadan's match against Eric Pang. Meanwhile, the #1 WD pair of Wang/Zhang from Macau have serenely made their way into the semis... But for my money, the following matches will provide the spice.

Pui Yin Yip [3] [HKG]

-

[JPN] Yuka Kusunose

Grace Gao [4] [CAN]

Li Michelle [CAN]

-

[CHN] Yu Xiaohan

[CHN] Huang Yaqiong

Henri Hurskainen [8] [SWE]

-

[MAS] Chun Seang Tan [3]

well sometimes it is about luck... and seriously tcs was quite bad with luck, well, maybe a change in luck? well, 2nd rated players needs a lot of luck when they play
Wee Henri is in the Semis! It's his best results in a long time and might be his best since the EC! Saw him play in the US and he didn't looked that comfortable against Boonsana, missed the ending but heard he lost by serving into the net... Hopefully he can reach the final and maybe even win the title this time! Heja Henri!!
The Netherlands team have come to Vancouver on a mission!

Eefje Muskens [NED]

Selena Piek [NED]

-

[MAC] Rong Wang [1]

[MAC] Zhibo Zhang

21-16 21-10

This one certainly rates as one of the biggest upsets so far.
Unfortunately, Yuka will not make a 2nd finals appearance in a row as she falls to Yip Pui Yin 20-22, 21-13, 19-21. Well fought Yuka. She is one to watch out for in the future. I love the way she plays (always with a smile on her face, even when she makes a mistake). In mixed, Maneepong Jongjit and Sapsiree Taerattanachai (glad I can spell that correctly without looking it up now, and after hearing umpires saying her name, I believe I can pronounce it closely without flinching) gave the 1st seed Chun Hei Lee/Hoi Wah Chau the toughest match they've had so far in these past two tournaments, but fall short 24-22, 15-21, 13-21.
Maybe this is a "Good Luck" year for "monkey" TCS. He has been in the professional circuit long enough to earn the MS title. May the Monkey God be by his side in the finals.
Meanwhile, Misbun Ramdan is leading 11-8 in game 1 against Eric Pang. While Misbun Sr. no doubt looks on approvingly (or dis-) from the sidelines... Could we hope to see a rare bird indeed -and all-MAS finals in Mens Singles?
