My money is on MX ''JJS'' version selling like hotcakes, so why bother with a second fiddle (absolutely not referring to LYD--no-no, I wouldn't do that--but some deviously named racquet) even in an Olympic year? What matters is the overall ka-chings it rings in, supposedly!
Oh, I didn't mean it being used (switching to) in the Olympics but rather more on Victor milking it at such opportune time. Thinking more on the bottom line for Victor.
Maybe you are right, just like BS LYD and BS 15 again! and no one will care BS 15/ MX-?? lol, a standard marketing strategy from victor
Yeah but just like LYD and his "BS09", you think JJS is actually playing with a stock MX80? I'd put money on the fact that the racket he's using at the moment, is an MXJJS painted like an MX80.
I don't see why it wouldn't be stock. The only difference is probably that he has his rackets selected for BP and weight, so that they're all exactly the same.
And he magically decided after using the BS09 for how many years, that he wanted something markedly different in his own signature racket?? Unlikely. Badminton rackets are so basic and simple to make (I'm learning), I find it hard to believe a highly paid sportsperson wouldn't have something made specifically for them. They could have a lifetime supply of rackets, fully customised into whatever they want, painted however the sponsor wants them to be painted, in literally a few hours. Not to mention every KRP racket I've seen or used barely resembles a stock version of that model.
Agree, it is so basic. I believe that the unknown brand rackets will perform as good as the expensive racket according to one of the fellow BC Member who have tried several unknown brand rackets. Regarding JJS racket or LYD racket or any players racket, it will still be debatable, until someone could really get LYD or JJS racket from a match and then compare it with the one floating around the market.
I wonder if they make the MX90 just an MX80 with a new material, whether it would sell well. I think what most people are waiting for is a Victor with a real head heavy feel and spec (12 o'clock weighting).....although if Victor doesn't do it with the 90 or whatever I'd be pretty happy about that.
Don't know if this is the right place for it or if a new thread should be created, but MX-JJS is HH o0ooo HL S o0ooo F just like the MX70 and lots of other recent Victor rackets as shown on the Victor China website.
Hmm... would have expected JJS's bazooka to be extra-stiff (though it's entirely possible he'll use a custom-painted 80, as speculated here).
OMD!!all black?? this is evil racket.. i like...when its going to be released? sure ill get one if it is painted like this..
