I thought Wang Lin, with her good looks and World Champion Gold medal, would just marry a rich guy and retire. I am surprise she is now coaching. I guess she would have done it if she won the Olympic gold.
I feel happy for Wang Lin but at the same time can't help worrying about Wang Xin - how is she getting on? Wang Lin with her looks and age, now coming to 25, can well afford to take her time, do what she likes first before deciding when to settle down as there would be no lack of suitors for her to pick and choose, I suppose. Hope Wang Xin has abundance of good fortune in her life too.
Li Gen is, IMHO, a beneficiary of the one-child policy whereby the parents, especially those in positions of power, will do anything within their means to give their children a head start in life. Personally I think it is better off for him to study hard when there is still time to win a place in Bei Da or Tsinghua.
Hope springs eternal! Watch out for her cameo appearance in a badminton movie coming soon to a theater near you.
I don't see WL and BCL's name on the poster. Are they just like technical consultants? They should invite WL to be the main actress.
They missed out a name of one of the actors on the English translation. Guess we won't see too much of Wang Lin then. A pity.
They did put 5 names on the English translation. Just forgot to put Yee-Kin's last name. Should be Ronald Cheng, Yee-kin Cheng, ....... But who want to see more of WL in the movie than these other actors/actresses. I do.
LOL. I thought it was Ronald Cheng Yee Kin as one persons full name. Sometimes names are referred to like that in HK.
"Cheng" was doing double duty for "Ronald Cheng" and "Cheng Yee-Kin". Maybe the spell checker eliminated one of the Chengs on its own. Funny how both English and Chinese name orders are used simultaneously for English names and Chinese names, respectively. Both WL and BCL will be seen in the movie but not in any role of note. Josie Ho bankrolls the movies. So you know who will be the female lead. Josie Ho supposedly came second in WD in Ontario (universities?) competition and the director claims being on the school team when he was 13. There is no lack of badminton knowledge on set. Here's a nice swing illustration from the movie set. Not sure whether it is part of the movie or a badminton training guide for the actors:
