What does "hold" in the chart means? I thought it meant flexible shaft but arc8dx is a stiff racket so my assumption is wrong. Anyone knows?
Means the stringbed holds onto the shuttle for a fraction of a second then releases it while repulsion means it flies off the string bed as soon as it contacts it
does it mean that with a fraction more time, you are more in control in executing different varieties of shots ? And repulsion is more to gain speed ? Thx for expaining.
Well for hold, you have that fraction of a second to place the shot more accurately. With repulsion, you can move your shots quicker and your opponent will have less time to react which is key in doubles.
Must be a new stock. Last time I called they dont have the 4U version. How much they sell VT80 4U there?
it means it is slower. therefore for people who can hit harder / swing faster, it won't match the player's faster timing.
I checked and found lowest price for vt70 at sgd215 and vt80 at sgd244 in Singapore. Anyone has cheaper source?
Can you tell me where the shops are in HK? I'm heading there in the summer and hope to pick up a VT80 and maybe others, unless the VT90 and VT100 come out... Also, how's the free money the government's going to hand out? -.-
have you heard the website "Mybadmintonstore"? http://www.mybadmintonstore.com/shop/pages.php?page=mbsshop&?osCsid=uid0ggf0ef96td10umbggndls4 This is the store in Hong Kong
www.sohubuy.com is a very good, well priced place to buy also. jut bought my 3rd z slash for 115 delivered
Almost no racquet from Yonex has had my attention since the At700Ltd. If this racquet is as similar to my dragons, I'll buy a bunch of them. Hopefully they'll feel more like the AT700 than the AT900P
i bought my vt 80 from this store, link below. they have a store in Jordan, Kowloon. http://www.luxissportnet.com/index.do
OK so I decided to treat myself and I've splurged on a VT80! I have it in my hands now. I won't be able to play with it until tomorrow night though. However these are my initial impressions from swinging it in my dining room - taking care not to hit any vases! It's a 3U G4 - all my other rackets are 3U G3. I think the G4 grip makes it feel strangely smaller over all. Visuals: Striking. The graphics are very nice indeed and the racket looks dangerous straight off. I think the design also makes it look strangely sleek. Compared to AT700 (I own one) About the same head-heaviness but less stiff. Swing speed at maximum acceleration is much faster than the AT700. Just messing about with some more general push, lift and back-hand body defence shots I got the impression that the VT80 was a lot swifter. It also makes less noise. I think it's air resistance is much lower than the AT700. As a result there is a perception of more force behind the swing with the VT80. Edit: the main advantage of the VT80 might not so much be swing speed as reduced fatigue. But we will have to see. Compared to the ARC10 (I own it, and it's my primary racket) Much head heavier than the ARC10 but similar stiffness Swing speed at maximum acceleration is a bit slower. Just messing about with some more general push, lift and back-hand body defence shots the VT80 feels a touch slower but because of the head heaviness there's more of a perception of force. I think the similar stiffness means that the VT80 should be a fair bit more powerful. Conclusions It feels very nice but I won't know how it plays till I actualy play with it! I am happy to try and answer any questions but will post a review either tomorrow night (GMT) or Wednesday morning.
Don't be, just put the hours on court and let us all know how it stacks up with your trusty AT700. I doubt there'll be another AT700-like racquet, not even LiNing N90!
vt80 at AJ Puchong is RM599 with yonex bg66 and karakal grip.. just survey last weekend, they only have 3U.. 4u have to wait another 3-4 weeks!
