Well, did they improve?? You judge yourself. To me, they still not up to par yet.. We'll see their performance by 2moro. [video=youtube;cNtlDDByeO0]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNtlDDByeO0[/video]
No signs of huge visible improvement, but they seemed to be more alert and more proactive compared to defend defend defend in game two.. China pair made quite some mistakes... Improvement? Fighting spirit. Hunger to win against Chai/Guo.
Well, did they improve? . Well KKK/TBH have played JJS/LYD many times before. This match tomorrow (Quarter-Finals) should show us if KKK/TBH are going to play defensive (like before), or are they going to play attacking this time? We shall see. .
KKK is still fooling around and took his foot off the pedal towards the end of the game. he needs to be ruthless and kill the game off rather than thinking they are at game point and have a few points to spare.
Playing defensive is another thingy, which is, their usual style. But i HOPE their smashes and offensive style(if they use them later) can overcome JJS/LYD's good defense.
No doubt Rexy could get a coaching job in South East Asia but it would not be easy in the English-speaking countries where his lingo is limited. England did not win many titles when he was a doubles' coach there. It could be the reason why Rexy wants to continue working in Malaysia despite a change of position and maybe set up his own coaching center there, after that.
Err, some facts re ; Rexy. When he was in England he was responsible for Nathan/Gail winning many tournaments. And his English is pretty good. He's well liked in Europe, just whether he'd want to uproot his family is the question. And now, 1st. tournament without Rexy and KKK/TBH can't get past the quarters. Problem is with the players, think they are better than they actually are these days. Guess there'll be another change if this continues.
Just watched the match against lyd/jjs.First game had a flying start, aggressive and on the offense at every opportunity. Second game, slowed down a bit initially whereas koreans upped the tempo. Put up credible fight back in the later half but too far behind. If only they maintained their tempo in the beginning.Rubber set, both 'punchet'... Clearly, the koreans are much fitter! There are some positive signs from them. But definitely need to improve fitness.
the korean already knows their weakness an let them take the first set without worry. All the top 4 teams can just do this same old thing to them. It's well known already. If they loose game 1, they will be worse off. So when will they work harder? I don't think it is a coaching issue. again and again....a total dis-respect for a top class coach. if you support kkk-tbh, it means you are encouraging other players to do the same. Sad case. It is good to support respectful and disciplined players. Not players with attitude and unprofessional mentality. You have to let them know well that they are in the wrong. Ask the Indonesian fans...
Rebellion is encouraged if you do it professionally and it is not your fault. You cannot blame the coach when you are not fit and purposely AWOL. Suka suka ka? Kampung mentality.
Dont get me wrong. My observations of the match (and their weakness) doesnt mean i support them to be disrespectful of rexy. You can see i fully support rexy in my previous comments bout this pair n rexy.
JJS/LYD are not at their best. Even if KKK/TBH beat them, it doesn't mean they (KKK/TBH) have improved (mentally or attitude). But they look a bit more positive now. Fitness let them down. They should have gone all out in the 2nd game. Off topic : I heard PCC speak to KKK in cantonese and TBH in mandarin.
KKK/TBH are lacking Stamina . I also agree with you. I believe that out of the 3 S-Factors (Skill, Speed and Stamina), KKK/TBH are lacking Stamina. .
Skill, speed etc etc could be learned, developed and improved in a certain time frame and also along the years but stamina (fitness) need to be trained and upkeep all the time. Out of the three, stamina is the easiest to acquire but also the easiest to lose if one does not consistently keep track of their training intensity, discipline and lifestyle. That being the case, an athlete shouldn't be out of shape to begin with so its all down to the attitude of the individual players and nothing else.
KKK/TBH did well in the 1st game of the 2011 China Masters MDQF match with variations here and there to outwit JJS/LYD 21-15. But as usual they relaxed in the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] game losing 16-21. In the rubber, they reverted to their usual practice of lifting the shuttles giving the Koreans a field time of aggressive smashing. Also they showed their lack of stamina to last 3 games. The new coach should work not only on their stamina but also to hammer home the stark fact that they must also go all out in the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] game once they have won the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] game.
