Heard this just two weeks ago and I thought her own rendition was as good or even better than Sting's. Haunting, beautiful music, Eva sings. If Sting were a member on BC replying here he'll tell you that he wept listening to Eva's version of his song. I thought Peter Jackson visualised the parting scene at the Havens very well, pretty much similar to what I had in mind from reading the book. The song itself described the bittersweet feeling in the hearts of both, especially the Elves as they had to say a sad goodbye to their old friends on their beloved Middle-Earth whilst looking forward to paradise across the sea and reuniting with their brethren. The lyrics is a mixture of a tribute to a talented young filmmaker named Cameron Duncan who died from cancer and was performed for the first time during his funeral. It described death is but a temporary parting: And allusions to the Undying Lands of Aman, Middle-Earth's paradise (not Heaven as Eru Illuvatar the All Creator doesn't live there): Aman was hidden from mortals (Man) and was deemed impossible to reach because it wasn't their fate due to the gift of Death.
