    The Japanese Smile

Between them, Shintaro Ikeda and Shoji Sato have more on-court energy than a pair of Pratt & Whitney engines.
It's amazing to see their permanent enthusiasm.
They always remember to smile, even when losing.

In general, the Japanese and Korean players are quite a cheerful lot.
(Sho Sasaki and Park Sung-Hwan are exceptions - they frown most of the time.)
It helps to be enormously pretty as well - like Miyuki Maeda ;)

A great many players take off their smiles the moment they enter the court.
Ikeda, Sato, Maeda, Keita Masuda, Kumiko Ogura, Reiko Shiota, Peter Gade, Lee Jae-Jin, Lee Yong-Dae, Jung Jae-Sung, Gao Ling, Zhou Mi, etc are a welcome difference from the dour faces of Chen Jin, Cai Yun, Tine Rasmussen, Martin Lundgaard, Lin Dan, Hafiz Hashim, Guo Zhengdong, etc.

Of course, a few players are also prone to quite a bit of nervous laughter.
Donna Kellogg is a prime example.

    ^^I don't know..^^

..if the person was making faces or not, but with a not-so-happy face like that, it seems like the guy has just lost all of his luggages at the airport with only a racket left... ;)

If you can't play that good on court, you've got to always make up with that by having cool soft permed hair and nice copper colouring.
    By experience of course... :D:D
