Too bad I no longer work at IBM, otherwise I'd be there with you. Haha.

If anyone needs another member, please hire me and then I'll be eligible to play ;) (hint hint: I'm looking for a job).

Networking and badminton, together at last! :) Joking aside, best of luck in your search, it's tough out there, but things are rapidly improving

Totally agree. I was not suggesting for complete exclusion, but just looking forward to next year with tons of companies lining up to join, how do we limit to still 16 max entrees. :D

Glad to hear that IBM is putting together a team. Now where is HP, Microsoft, Sun, Apple, Applied, Symantec, NatSemi, AMD, Agilent, Juniper, KLA, Adobe...?

i believe we can no longer limit it to 16. we should allow as many teams as possible. if we double the size, we just make a huge draw and rent the gym for 2 days. :)

imagine, if we can get all those companies you listed, that will be a major event in the bay area. (well, except Sun, which will be under Oracle...)

Last year, team Oracle came in uniform (I think or at least the same color shirt). I thought it was so cool. Hope other team would do the same.

they wouldn't need a WD team. they can win by just MD/MX alone.

    very good players. :)

i don't know their name, but i probably won't get more than 5 points if they play serious..

If I remember correctly, kwun is right. Ebay basically took all the MD (#1 and #2) and XD. They had a good MD3 and ok WD, to entertain the other teams. The only question was whether they would win 5-0, 4-1, or 3-2. However, I must say Oracle XD did give them a very good match (BTW, I don't work for Oracle. Just enjoyed a good match).

ctjcad is right also. With kwun and others teams, it should be very exciting and try to de-throne the champ. Let's build some bay area badminton rivalry :D:D

Unfortunately no. We don't have enough players to form a team. It should be lots of fun with that many teams and mix of players. Not sure if you guys can do all that in a day though. kwun, you should give Ebay and Oracle a run for that gold metal :D:D

BTW, maybe you can negotiate to have a Team BadmintonCentral for those who aren't part of any of these companies :)

    we will see about Oracle.

ebay is untouchable. while most companies are struggling to find enough players, they have so many good players i heard they had an internal trial and ended up with all A/B level players in the team.

technically i just need to hire each person as a contractor for a day, fire them, and then they will be qualified, i will give that a thought. :)
