the hawk-eye as use in tennis is based on the accuracy of the computer to predict the flight of the tennis ball without human intervention.

i can't see how can they adapt that to a very lightweight shuttlecock that can be affected by the AC/ draft in a very different way in halls all over the place. even at the opposite ends of the same hall!

Why is there a poster with LD in the hall? Didn't they know that LD did not qualify?

Previously, I've read that BWF has engaged an American company to develop something similar to the hawk-eye camera used in tennis but adapted for badminton use, and that was slated to be ready for implementation only in 2014. But then the last I read about a week ago, BWF is seriously considering using the the hawk-eye camera for tennis and introduce its use earlier sometime next year but some discretionary judgement from the line judges/adjudicators will be necessary for a shuttlecock is shaped differently from a tennis ball. That's all I understand as there was scant details given in that article. Perhaps BWF wants to try the available one out first while waiting for a more suitable one to be developed in time to come. Let's wait for BWF's official announcement.

"... Deputy President Paisan Rangsikitpho gave more details about the instant-replay system that was first announced a few months ago. Apparently, the “technology will involve a combination of high-speed, slow-motion cameras” and will be “based on a challenge system which would be available to players during their matches”. It is expected to have a trial run in early 2013."

Not bad, Koo/Tan was leading at first, then fell behind, now they've fought back to take G1, 21-19.

If MAS wins in close 3 games and BoMo beats C/F, C/F will be eliminated. Right?

Bomo beats CY/FHF in straight, CY/FHF eliminated (CY/FHF wins one less game than the other two)
CY/FHF beats Bomo in any case, Bomo eliminated (Bomo 0 wins)
Bomo beats CY/FHF in 3 games, draw lots (All wins and loses the same amount of games)

But of course that is only if KKK/TBH wins, lol which I don't think they will

I dont think they will draw lots lah. They will count the number of points won. Koo/Tan just beat Boe/Mo

When all wins and loses the same amount of games... actually, it shouldn't be draw lots, but based on points :p so I was just randomly saying that

It would have easier for MAS if they had won in 2 straight games and they can go shopping tomorrow.
