Unforces and forces errors are the two common errors that any player usually perform. No offense against Hafiz Hashim, but i consider him one of the Malaysia players that when enters into error mode, he can make so many errors especially unforced errors that can be equivalent to his opponent winning point gained, so frustrating.

In badminton, unforces errors occurs primarliy due to the players lacks of patient and resilience. In the other hand, it is contributed by mentality strength to boost the self confidence, thus making errors even when retrieveing the simpliest shots.

While forced errors occurs primarily due to physicality aspects either:

    - the opponent is able to play better, controlling the paste at his will and outmanouevering him most of the time, therefore making difficult shots to retrieve, thus errors occured or
    - the lack of physical fitness to keep the momentum of the game and eventually makes errors

Hafiz skills is one of the best, but these above two problem that kill his own game whenever he plays against other world class player. Similarly, like our back-up, these two qualities that seems to be lack that causes them unable to establish themselves further in the international arena.

BAM go ahead with tournament plans for their shuttlers

PETALING JAYA : The absence of Misbun Sidek did not prevent the Badminton Association of Malaysia ’s ( BAM ) coaching and training committee from going ahead with a detailed plan for Lee Chong Wei .

The committee met yesterday and it was agreed that the world No. 1 will take part in a total of 14 international tournaments this year . And the targets are to peak in three events – All - England ( March 8 - 13 , Birmingham ) , world championships ( Aug 8 - 14 , London ) and the SEA Games ( Nov 11 - 25 , Indonesia) .

Singles coordinator Rashid Sidek presented the plans for Chong Wei and those for the other elite shuttlers — Mohd Hafiz Hashim , Chan Kwong Beng , Tan Chun Seang , Chong Wei Feng and Liew Daren .

The committee chairman, Ng Chin Chai, said that it was business as usual for the coaches.

“ We did not bring up the matter on Misbun today. The BAM exco will meet on Jan 12 and on the agenda is his resignation as a coach in the national team . Our president will make some announcements then, ” he said .

“ Today, it ’s all about our periodisation programme for our shuttlers, ” said Chin Chai .

“ It was proposed for Chong Wei to compete in 17 tournaments but three were dropped . The top pair , Koo Kien Keat - Tan Boon Heong , will also compete in 14 tournaments .

“ We also decided that the back- up shuttlers will compete in at least eight tournaments . The exposure will facilitate our efforts to bridge the gap between the back- up players and the seniors. ”

Besides Rashid , the meeting was attended by high performance director Datuk James Selvaraj and six other coordinators — Rexy Mainaky ( men ’s elite doubles ) , Tan Kim Her ( men ’ s back - up doubles ) , Hendrawan ( men ’ s back - up singles) , Wong Tat Meng ( women ’s elite and back- up singles ) , Pang Cheh Chang ( women ’s elite and back- up doubles ) and Jeremy Gan ( mixed doubles ) .

Chin Chai added that they had identified those to gear up for qualifcation for the 2012 London Olympics .

The BAM players in the Olympic programme are Chong Wei , Hafiz ( men ’s singles ); Wong Mew Choo, Lydia Cheah, Julia Wong ( women ’s singles ); Koo Kien Keat - Tan Boon Heong , Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif - Hoon Thien How , Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari - Ong Soon Hock, Lim Khim Wah - Chan Peng Soon , Mak Hee Chun- Tan Wee Kiong and Goh Wei Shem- Teo Kok Siang ( men ’s doubles ); Wong Pei Tty - Chin Eei Hui , Ng Hui Lin - Ng Hui Ern ( women’ s doubles ); and Peng Soon - Goh Liu Ying, Ong Jiao Guo- Sabrina Chong ( mixed doubles ) .

Yesterday , the committee also introduced a performance merit system to keep close tabs on the national coaches.

Chin Chai also announced that four players – Lim Yu Sheng , Zairul Anuar Zainuddin , Nairul Suhada Abdul Latif and Nurhani Abdul Aziz – have been dropped from their programme.

lim yu sheng, only 19 this year has been dropped by bam:)

anyone has any idea why? :)

there must be a serious reason, for bam won't simply do that:d

he has the height, speed and power

and misbun once said he could become a very good player.

that was dec 2009 when he lost to ramdan in 3 close sets.

nairul, i saw her play just few months back, she is tall but being pretty

and probably beauty conscious, i guess there ain't much concentration all along :d

lim yu sheng was the few picked up by misbun for training in 2008 (i think),

    together with ramdan, syawal ...

he was the runner up of the national grand prix final under 18 boys singles

and he lost to goh giap chin in 3 close sets but he injured his arm during the 1 set.

but few months later he beat goh quite easily.

to choose between these 2, i would choose lim but i maybe wrong:d

well, it is a waste and opportunity lost if he doesn't continue training

i just found out why lim yu sheng was dropped.

recently the coaches done a review on the players,

sad to say in the report, he has little quality to move on:eek:

let's hope at least he tries doubles:d

i think if bam does this regularly the players around these ages will be filtered

and we can expect quality players in no time:)

also hope this can be a feedback to them

what kind of players they are looking at from the grass root level

and inform those coaches down there:d

The elite is doing pretty ok in mo11. As long as the proceed to keep up with the good determination to win. Important for them to review the statistics in tournamentsoftware.com. Need more offensive and net wins. Pretty obvious or critical in winning. ;)

Well, if the attitude of the coaches and players are that it's okay to lose in home grounds, in the first or second qualification round; no wonder only Lee Chong Wei can be relied upon.

Chong Wei Feng has done nothing over the past year to show that he deserves a place in the elite back-up. He cannot say that he hasn't been given chances to prove himself as he participated in 1 IC, 1 GP, 4 GPG, and 4 SS tourneys.

Let's review his results in 2010:
China SS - Lost to Chen Jin in R32 (11-21, 11-21)
MAS IC - Lost to Huang Chao (younger than him) in R16 (17-21, 14-21)
INA GPG - Lost to Febriyan Irvannaldy in R64 (also a junior player from INA) 14-21, 21-9, 16-21
TPE GPG - Lost to Mohd Hafiz Hashim in R16 12-21, 20-22
MAS GPG - Lost to Andre Kurniawan Tedjono in R16 9-21, 9-21
BAC - Lost to Kenichi Tago in R64 15-21, 11-21
AE - Lost to Christian Lind Thomsen in Qualifying Round 2 15-21, 20-22
GER GP - Lost to Marc Zweibler in R64 20-22, 11-21
MAS SS - Lost to Boonsak Ponsana in QF 14-21, 9-21
KOR SS - Lost to Peter Gade in R32 19-21, 17-21

Overall Record: W11 L10, with 5 first-round and 1 other qualifying round exits from 10 tourneys!
Best Performance: QF in MAS SS

    Daren Liew:
HKG SS - Lost to Wen Kai in Qualifying First Round 15-21, 13-21
DEN SS - Lost to Hu Yun in R16 12-21, 15-21
INA GPG - Lost to Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka in SF 13-21, 11-21
TPE GPG - Lost in R32 to Wong Choong Hann 16-21, 21-23
MAC GPG - Lost to Wong Wing Ki in R16 12-21, 21-19, 18-21
MAS GPG - Lost to Lee Chong Wei in R32 16-21, 14-21
MAS SS - Lost to Tan Chun Seang in Qualifying Second Round 18-21, 21-14, 21-23
KOR SS - Lost to Jang Young Soo in Qualifying First Round 21-10, 17-21, 12-21

Overall Record: W12 L8, with 3 qualifying rounds exits.
Best Performance: SF in INA GPG

    Chan Kwong Beng:
DEN SS - Lost to Emil Vind in Qualifying Second Round 11-21, 14-21
    INA GPG - Lost to Adnan Fauzi in R64 21-9, 12-21, 17-21
    VIE GP - Lost to Tian Houwei in R64 21-18, 12-21, 13-21
TPE GPG - Lost to Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka in R16 17-21, 17-21
    MAC GPG - Lost to Hsu Jen-hao in R64 19-21, 21-17, 16-21
    MAS GPG - Lost to Koichi Saeiki in R64 21-18, 15-21, 17-21
BAC - Lost to Wang Zhengming in R64 21-23, 9-21
GER GP - Lost to Mohd Hafiz Hashim in R16 7-21, 13-21
MAS SS - Lost to Chetan Anand in R32 19-21, 16-21

Overall Record: W7 L9, with 6 first-round and 1 additional qualifying round exits in 9 tourneys! He progressed to the second round only in 2 tourneys!

So, do anyone of them deserve to be in the so-called elite back-up?

If these results are considered "okay", then, seriously, the formation of the CTC will be necessary, with each coach expected to write reports of the players under his/her responsibilities and be able to explain why such embarassing results are "reasonable" or "not reasonable" for the players so-called to be the "elite back-up" of BAM!

If the international results are "embarrasing", can the domestic results save these players? Let's review them too:

    Chong Wei Feng:
Perak Open - Lost in SF to Mohd Hafiz Hashim 18-21, 21-15, 21-10
Kedah Open - Lost in R16 to Lim Fang Yang 13-21, 20-22

    Overall Record: W2 L2

    Daren Liew:
Perak Open - Lost to Mohd Hafiz Hashim in QF 18-21, 10-21
Kedah Open - Lost to Chan Kwong Beng in SF 18-21, 21-11, 20-22
National Circuit GP Final - Won 2 matches in Group Stage, Lost to Chan Kwong Beng 16-21, 20-22

    Overall Record: W5 L3

    Chan Kwong Beng:
Perak Open - Lost to Kuan Kam Chung in R16 19-21, 21-12, 19-21
Kedah Open - WINNER, beating Goh Soon Huat in the Final 21-16, 15-21, 21-18
National Circuit GP Final - Won 3 matches in Group Stage, Lost to Lee Chong Wei in SF 10-21, 7-21

    Overall Record: W7 L2

Lets face it. Almost winning is still considered a lost. Even if you lost 20-22. The only one with an acceptable result in MO is CKB because he was expected to get demolished. And looking at badMania's records(Thank you, badMania! I can't believe you took the time to do this even though you're an INA fan!) I must say that this batch definitely has no more hope...

Ya, just like my location... and I will keep it this way until someone else besides LCW wins a title (But in the end most likely will be our KKK/TBH win a title)

Well, I am curious as to what's their overall records for the year 2010 and it wasn't that difficult to dig those information out. The results were....very very shocking and disappointing obviously.

Compare the three musketeers' results with that of Mohd Hafiz Hashim who got so much criticisms by fellow MAS fans:

    Mohd Hafiz Hashim
HKG SS - Lost to Wang Zhengming in R32 18-21, 12-21
    JPN SS - Lost to Kenichi Tago in R32 21-16, 13-21, 12-21
WC - Lost to Lee Chong Wei in R32 16-21, 16-21
TPE GPG - Lost to Nguyen Tien-Minh in QF 19-21, 11-21
MAS GPG - Lost to Wong Choong Hann in QF 21-19, 17-21, 11-21
SIN SS - Lost to Dicky Palyama in R16 8-21, 13-21
IND GPG - Lost to Gurusaidutt RMV in QF 18-21, 15-16 Retired
Thomas Cup - Lost to to Shoji Sato 10-21, 21-14, 18-21
BAC - Lost to Boonsak Ponsana in QF 9-21, 21-17, 10-21
AE SS - Lost to Lin Dan in R16 14-21, 18-21
GER GP - Lost to Chen Long in SF 15-21, 19-21
    MAS SS - Lost to Hsieh Yu-Hsing in R32 19-21, 21-14, 14-21

Overall Record: W20 L12, with first-round exits in 3 SS tourneys.
Best Performance: SF in GER GP and QF in BAC, IND, MAS, and TPE GPG

Needless to say, Hafiz's results are way much better than the rest and like it or not, he's still going to be depended upon as MAS's 2nd MD for team-events!

Just dont understand what went wrong. Same thing happens in squash. We have the world no.1 in these sports and yet the rest who has easy access to spar and train together dont seem to be able to catch up.

Yes, what happen to the elite back up?:crying::confused:

Coaches write reports to ctc and what are they gonna do with the report?:D

Make a decision on what to do with the players or help them?:p

Well, a lot of us may say give chance lah ... While some may not,

Then how to help them or what kind of help to give them ?

Anyone has any idea other than asking them to quit?

Where are the roots of these problems? :D

Btw, thanks to badmania for the score:)
