Dude, you are lucky LXR 'save' your life and beat WYH, otherwise all those players you listed above striked gold except WYH and you will do what...'proudly end your life'...all that for badminton?

Wang Xin was dealt double, maybe triple whammy in this Olympics - first her defeat at LXR's hand whom she had beaten on all their five previous encounters, then, worse, her ill-timed injury during her match vs Saina whom she had outplayed convincingly to take G1 despite petering off towards the end with signs of discomfort, and as a result gifted Saina the bronze medal (perhaps I should count the last two as one incident).

At age 26 and a CHN player, this Olympics would probably be her first and last appearance, I'm afraid. But all may not be lost. Just as in the past, at age 17 when she sustained a severe back injury that took her out for years before she made an amazing comeback, this time after this unfortunate ill-fated knee injury, I believe she has the mettle and grit determination to do it again.

May her second comeback be even more splendid, what with the enormous talent that she possesses ! The badminton world awaits your speedy recovery. All the very best.

I kept thinking how a tiny girl can generate so much power in her shots. If I'm LYB, I will definitely ask WX to be WSX's coach. If WSX has WX's power, she will be able to compete with WYH and LXR.

As somebody else mentioned in another thread, usually ACL reconstructions are not done immediately after the injury but some weeks later.

If she had a locked knee caused by some trapping of the cartilage, then an early operation would be indicated.

Hope it turns out pretty good for her, a prolonged recovery or rehabilitation period is the last thing anybody wants as in the case of Wang Lin. Anyway, her name's taken out of next month's China Masters.

Wish her speedy recovery and return stronger than ever - may she be like her coach Zhang Ning who played even better badminton as she aged towards 30.

Power is one thing WX has, but I think WX superb fitness and footwork compensate WX height and enable her to play that constant motion, fluid game, even 3-setters that set her apart from her teammates. WX reminds me of GZC and SS, the type of running game that beautify badminton.

Superb fitness? I think her fitness is a little suspect. Love her style of play though.

Given her height and reach, to play WX style of a running game, fitness is key, otherwise there is no way to sustain that kind of pace. While her play is beautiful to watch, it takes stamina, footwork and fitness to deliver that kind of performance and to maintain her postion in the CHN team. The same to SS and GZC in their playing days. WSX and LXR fitness are suspect'. WYH fitness is superb. Now, which game that WX played that she slowed down or die playing that you say her fitness is not good? Player like XXZ, who has terrible fitness but blessed with ostrich legs and albatross reach, are barely caught out of position, fitness is still important but not the key to their success.
