hi guys, My Club is planning on changing from plastic to feather, And I decided to buy these shuttle from mybadmintonstore.com http://www.mybadmintonstore.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=25_58_59_84&products_id=858#.UsrnYPSnrMg Can you tell me what would be the best speed selection, I don't need the fastest, just something close to what the pros play I guess. They have the following speeds, I don't know what they mean. 2/49/76 3/50/77 4/51/78 0/47/74 1/48/75 5/52/79 Thanks
the lower the number, the slower the speed of the shuttle. Gettin the right speed is very climate dependent. I suggest you ask around at other places to see what speed shuttles they use and test those in your hall. Then use that as a benchmark.
The club I play is air-conditioned, Temps these days in winter are around 70F Humidity is around 55% What are the 3 different number? How do you break them down ? Thank you
they are equivalent. different manufacture use different numbering system. basically, speed 3 = speed 50 = speed 77
There are three grading systems for shuttle speed. 0 to 5, 47 to 52, 74 to 79. I think 47 to 52 is the weight I.e. 4.7gm, 4.8gm etc. 74 to 79 is a system using the term 'grains'. Larger number means heavier. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php/18605-Best-Shuttlecock-Speed-For-a-Region http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php/20212-Shuttlecock-speed
