exactly..very true..there may be something preventing LD from going independent if not he would have gone independent long ago..

Naive would be the most suitable word to describe the statement above.

If Lin dan wants to play the final then he is asking for

a premature retirement from playing :D

Lee yong bo is just that powerful :D :p

Sorry ld fans, next time pray for Lcw to go final

and your dream to see a great match will come true :)

I hate to say it, but LYB made the right call from where he is standing. LYB's job is to get as many medals in OG12 as possible, so he needs as many pairs/players to have qualified in order for him to have the best chance possible of keeping his job. CJ currently is not in the top 4, and LYB knows that BCL is past it, WZM isn't ready yet (btw yesterdays match was fixed as well) and Du PY is capable of winning a medal. Therefore he knows that his best three players are still LD CL and CJ.

For three players into OG12 they all have to be within top 4. LYB knows that LD can qualify no problem through other tournaments. And CL can be within the top 4, without much problems. Therefore he has to try and get enough points for a struggling CJ in order for him to qualify. Therefore a WO to gain 9000+ points makes it more likely that CJ can qualify.

I agree, LD vs CJ could have went ahead and played an exhibition styled match, or one similar to AE08. But then, that would probably be just as bad.

It's a ruthless world, and you have to look at it from LYB perspective, it's his job to get as many medals as possible, by any means. If he doesn't, he gets sacked. Simple. Of course it doesn't look good for the game, nor for the fans, but LYB has a job to do, and If that means giving WO to help struggling players, then he will do it.

Leave LD and CJ out of this, you know it's not LD decision. And LD can't go independent, everyone knows this as well. The nation decides which players should be sent to each tournament, and I believe the national team can refuse to enter players into tournaments. So what benefit would it be to LD ?

And with the risk of annoying some people here. Many are wanting CBA to be banned from entering the OG. Surely however many of them are LCW fans and only want CBA to be banned so that LCW can win no problem. And anyway, it would be a hollow victory without CBA. If CBA were banned, the winners of OG would never get full credit, as they would just dismiss the victory as Team CHN weren't there.

well, for me, it might be better if they do an exhibition match
give the audience some interesting rallies and shots
at least it is worth the money (to buy those tickets) if they do that
WO in the final is just.. pretty bad, I mean it.

Let s have some clear thinking.

    1) If a player is good enough to win the gold, he does not need helpers, be it one or two.

    2) It s only because he s not good enough, that s why he requires escorts.

    3) This is the same player who, after his last two closely fought victories, said the entertaining matches biggest winners are the SGO fans. Today he said sorry you gotta be losers. Why talked so much and make CHN lose face in front of not just the whole SGO crowd but the global televised audience. If he did not do the fans are winners line,it would not sound so bad today. He lost credibility and the other CHN players following after, got booed. Like one CHN guy said, he 'lost CHN people face'.

    4) LYB s just an excuse. LYB s job cannot be bigger than CHN people s face. Just play an exhibition match. A lot of LD fans wouldn't know they get fooled. They are not as clever as BC members who got advance notice. The LD fans just wanna see him talk with his racket, not his mouth.

Then who will be LD's coach? where does he find a place and partner to train?

Li Na's case is different. The best tennis coach is not in China.

    Look here:

    View attachment 100887

Notice the red coloured old style Li Ning logo in the centre of the butt plate? Notice also the white coloured athlete tape covering the whole of the butt cap and a bit of the butt plate?

For those who can't read Chinese, the top right corner reads 2011 Singapore Badminton Super Series Live, Semifinal Lin Dan -vs- Gade.

    Now compare it to this:

This is for you all who insist that Lin Dan has removed all his racquets' butt cap

Lin, the world number two and Olympic gold medallist, had gone to see a tournament doctor who confirmed he was suffering from gastric flu, tournament officials said.

If Lin Dan is really such in your world then will he even turn ill or injured in the first place (with medical proof)? OR does he even need to put in effort to beat LCW?

If you said "Wolverine" then people would have believed you slightly

    Opinion seconded!

Next thing we know the TV broadcast rating will drop significantly and BWF will not be able to recover from the loss of advertisement and market share even with the measly number of LCW (not to mention Koo & Tan, Lee and Jung) fans parading the streets "advertising" for them. BWF and the OG 2012 committee are smarter than this.

CBA is a significant part of BWF advertising and modern badminton, period.
