i was sent 3 different models of string. but i haven't tested them yet.

i did string up one of the adipower rackets last night with ZM62N and play tested it all night. all i can say for now is that if you are getting a bunch of "red packets" during Chinese New Year, don't go rush out and buy that Yonex quite yet, Adidas will give Yonex and others a run for their money.

Pandas only give black/white packets (though I guess he meant envelopes).

haha. yeah. i think they have a little bit of explanation to do there. ;)

technically, the face isn't really shown there, but all of us with sharp badminton eyes know who that guy is.

Wow I totally thought that that box was bigger than that lol.

    Looking forward to your review!

I should be talking with them tomorrow too, we'll see what comes out of it.

If you guys have some other questions for them that kwun did not answer (please look in this thread somewhere, he posted some interesting things :p) feel free to post and I'll try to ask them if I have enough time.

Yes. it will take a bit of work. in total i got 4 rackets, 3 different strings, and a tube of shuttlecock. Just the racket alone will take a couple of weeks to play test. i started testing the racket. i really do like the adipower. this is the racket i tested:

i strung it with red Zymax ZM62N. as you can imagine, that's a very badass looking color combo. let me ask if i can post a picture of it. i don't see why not given they already leaked the above photo in facebook.

To be honest I'm more interested in their prces. I guess no one doubts that adidas can produce high quality products but for me it is more interesting if they are starting a price war with the currents top dogs.

I think you can expect their prices to be "premium" prices, which means about the same as Yonex high end models. They would probably discredit themselves if they set prices lower.

However, I think you can expect A LOT of huge specials and giveaways to get their name out there in badminton in the first couple months/years. Thats how I'd do it, but I'm far from a marketing expert ;P

i think there is 3. They have the same names except the packaging looks different, the string come in slightly different colors (brighter) and red was added. Also the range got bigger with the new gen (zymax 65 was added). There's a large thread in the string forum.

i am only aware of 2 versions.

the older one, while also an excellent string, only last around 2 hours. the new one is as good if not better string and lasts a lot longer. in fact, i have strung and used it over 10 rackets and only managed to wear one down.

i thought there was only 2 versions too. I just read that there was 3 when someone posted it the other day so you're right. Does the zymax 62 really last that much longer? The guy at the store I went to told me to just get the zm65 because the 62 breaks too fast.

ZM62 will only last you a couple hours in Eastern Canada at this time of the year. The person you talked to was right, it's too cold and dry atm for such thin strings to last as long as you'd like.

I'd trust him - I have no experience with the new ZM62, but when I used up my last 2 sets of the old one a few months ago I broke them within 20 minutes. One minor mishit is enough - one broke on a drive. Depends on the tension of course, maybe I was past it's limits with 28lbs, but even at 24 it was far from durable (I used to go through 6-8 a month, and I'm a clean hitter and was a much weaker player back then, both skill- and strength-wise. I still don't break more than one string a month though, despite my significant improvement.)
The only string I've encountered that's worse is the AP62 by Li Ning, which I bought 10 sets of - I used them up in 25 days.
Since I was rather satisfied with the BG66UM I decided to give the ZM65 a try and I'm pretty damn glad I did. Very good string, not quite the grip and control of the BG80 but a whole lot more repulsion. If you already got it, stay with it until you break more than 2 a month.
