Yeah, he's using the Bravesword 12 rather than his own signature racket.

Yes as the result he got beaten badly by the indonesian duo Ahsan and Setiawan (although I have to say the indonesian duo totally outplayed Lee and Ko) :)

"As the result"? Seriously? :D With his signature racket, he lost the OG SF, so I guess it's not really almighty ;)

He needed a healthy JJS more than a new racket or Ko

I've been using the LYD for a while now and I've managed to break two strings in a very short time because of miss hits. I've been using the ZF even longer and since it has a slightly smaller head than the other Voltrics I thought I would be able to handle the LYD, but it seems that it didn't help much when it came to the timing issue at all. For those interested in this racket and if you're not familiar with rackets with smaller heads, I suggest you string the LYD with lower tension and/or with a more durable string during the first period until you get used to it.

I think the new one sold by badminton base is the first gen? The new one has some red colors on the side.

I emailed the shop and they had one. Maybe worth contacting them?

Second generation LYD should be available in UK and Europe from September/October.

I have been testing this racket recently and will be posting my review onto my website within the next 5 days.

What other Victor rackets have you tested recently or in the pipeline to be reviewed?

Can someone tell me which of the brave swords are closest to the BS-LYD in terms of stiffness and feel but is not quite as head heavy? Something more even balanced, i.e 3/5 for Balance and 4/5 for Stiffness on Victor's scale. Is it the 09?

I love the LYD, but find that I'm struggling with the defence a little due to the head weight, but power is very good due to the head weight. Hopefully the answer to my question above won't mean it would sacrifice power too much.

    Thanks :)

Bs10. Bs09 and 12 are both softer (3/5, 3/5 rating). Bs10 has a 4/5, 4/5 rating here I think (or maybe 3/5 on the HH).....mine are quite old and have the old scale for stiffness :D
Definitely a very quick racket. If this isn't fast enough defensively, no racket is - you'll have to work on your defense and forearms then :D

Thanks j4ckie, I'd like a BS12 but I think it would be too soft for me. I prefer something as stiff as the LYD. Sounds like the BS10 might be worth checking out?

The BS are fast racquets aerodynamically - which is great for fast long strokes, such as smashes. But when it comes to manoeuvring short strokes, defence, flicks etc... it's the head weight that governs. The LYD is noticeably slower in this department compared to my 8DX/ArcZS/Arc10...

I've never had a problem with forearm power, in fact it's probably my greatest strength but when I play with my 8DX or ArcZS my defence is a lot faster and more solid than playing with my LYD.

Don't get me wrong, I love the LYD, but just wish it was a touch more headlight.

The BS10 is very manoeuvrable, but the head-lightness will negatively impact your smashes. I really suffered in this aspect, and the few defensive shots extra I was able to return weren't able to make up for the energy expenditure and points not won on attack.

Thanks, have you tried a BSLYD?

Would you say it is definitely headlighter than the LYD but just as stiff?

I don't mind sacrificing a little power for more speed in defence
