so given the first run that i had last night, the ns660 and vs850 are quite different. vs850 is stiff while ns660 is soft. they are not supposed to be the replacement. the ns880, however, as i was told, will be a stiff string. as for its destined purpose of life in the spectrum of Victor strings... well it does have one, but i shall not reveal at this point. it could be the replacement of vs850, or maybe not. personally i don't know how Victor can improve on the vs850 with a replacement. but we will see if the ns880 can be one when it comes out.
I think ns and vs must denote different factory as well.. However, I also notice that some of the older vs strings are made in taiwan as well
to clarify, it is more like a different OEM. that's why there is the change of manufacturing location to Taiwan. as for which OEM has factory in Taiwan... well...
played a few more games with this string yesterday. i like it. maybe my joints are getting old but once in a while having less impact on them on every shot may not be a bad thing. the dwell time does need some getting used to but the power is surprisingly good, and good consistently as well. it is more forgiving a string to use than vs850 which is ultimate in feel but hard on the body. the effort and impact is slightly more muted but the result is a more effortless execution of each stroke. perhaps in the future when i get to meet this string again, i will tighten it up a pound or two. now when is Victor going to release it!?!
The NS660 is already available in Singapore at E-Link Sports. I strung my BS LYD with NS660 at 25lbs. Ok here goes my first ever string review or any review for that matter The feel is like BG66UM but like what Kwun says, it needs a bit getting used to. When I first use it, it felt a little bit dull and dead sound. It doesn't sound as great as 66UM or ZM62. Only after about an hour of playing, then you can get that good feeling from the string. Repulsion is great especially when returning smashes. Net shots though needs a bit more effort and getting used to.
so the final impression is kinda a "meh" for me. the softness is hard to get used to. and overtime as i played more with it, it got even softer and any kind of feel went away. perhaps there should be a followup test of this string at higher tension, 27 or even 28 pounds would be better. at the current state, the string might end up being cut.
ns-660 vs vs-650 Hi everyone.have any of you tried both the ns660 and vs650 string??if so what are the difference??asked mrs elaine from e-link sport and she said ns660 has titanium and vs650 do not.
yep i've tried this victor NS 660Ti.. also got it from an undisclosed source =D anyway, i'm in love with it! stringed it on my NR 700FX. Never looked back from then on LOL
Sounds like there is a newer version which is Zti like the 880zti. So I have the older ti version. Presumably the newer one is a harder feel. Do I need to start a new thred/ask a mod to include zti in the title ofthis to keep dicussion on it in one place?

If I'm having to back off my tensions for the forthcoming 4U rackets, it might be nice to go thinner as well... if I can find a Zti, I'll get a couple.
Make that three I presume MBS do the new one? I got old from Eric so I might as well compare as I need to place an MBS order soon. I'm happy with old 880zti and feeling the string, 660ti will suit me fine. Edit. MBS showing new package but no mention of zxion on it per 880zti. To the victor website!
