    Ok, I was being a smarta$$.

You can get the Karakal PU Super for about $6 (including shipping) each on ebay.ca.

Or the official Karakal North American Distributer is:

    KARAKAL NORTH AMERICA
    110 MARGARET ANNE DRIVE
    SITE 5 D4 RR # 3
    CARP
    Tel: 1 613 839 2657
    Email: karakal@magma.ca

Not really close to you, but they may know someone in the Toronto area.

Also http://www.monctonsquash.ca/Pro-shop.htm sells PU Super and Nano 60 but I don't know if they ship outside the Moncton area.

One more suggestion. Squashgear.com will ship the Karakal PU Super or Point 75 to Toronto for $4. That's only $0.05 more than shipping to the US. If you can't find a local provider you can get one PU Super and 3 Point 75's to try out for about $13 (that's US but the exchange rate is currently 1 USD = 1.01854 CAN)

I'm going to buy one of each myself to try out :D

Ok, I'll write a review after I get them.

Here's my review of the Volkl Super Grip II:

Feel: It felt really nice when it was dry. Very good.

Sweat Absorbtion: Not good enough for me. I sweat a lot and by the end of a game it was pretty wet.

Feel when wet: It became slick once I started sweating. On the other hand, it seemed to dry pretty quickly and after grabbing some water it was tacky again for the next game.

Overall: I really liked the feel of it but not good enough if you sweat a lot (I'd rate my self a 9/10 on the sweat scale).

I'm going to try Whatagrip and the Karakal PU Super and Point 75 next.

I should clarify, if you are a heavy to extremely heavy sweater, a simple grip is not going to cut it. My grip review ratings are relative its peers. No grip is excellent for heavy sweaters.

    Please read this post:

To adequate minimize sweat, you need a combination of:

    1) Tacky/Absorbent Overgrip or Towel Grip
    2) Sweat Band
    3) Grip Enhancing Liquid/Powder/Spray
    4) Multiple rackets and switch after every few points
    5) Arm Sleeve and/or wear a glove

I was wiping my hands (and the grip) every couple of points with a microfiber towel which helps a lot. I left that part out, trying to relate my review to the common man who only gets kinda sweaty.

I guess I'll have to upgrade to sweat bands or grip spray even with the Karakal grips :crying:

A sweat band will cut down sweat by about 50%. It's a must for sweaty people. :p

haha, i don't sweat that much, so i think that most grips will do me well, but my wave grip has lost tackiness after 2-3 weeks, which makes me sad

Try the Under Armour 1" sweat band. To me the big thick sweat bands feel like they restrict my wrist movement. I hardly noticed the 1" one at all. Since there is less fabric it won't be able to hold as much sweat which means you may need to change them more often. But they also won't weigh as much which should help you.

    because:
    1. sweatband add to air resistance:p
    2. sweat absorbed adds weight. Without sweat band, sweat evaporate or drips off or flung off when swinging:p

Apparently Wilson has a new grip (a new grip to me anyway), Wilson Profile. Got a bunch. Seems to have the same tackiness as Xtra Tac with a slight profile pattern which makes just a little dryer feel.

I like it. A lot, actually.

The usual caveats apply, X-Tra Tac is not a great sweat absorber and neither is Profile.

Did you remove the thin plastic coating? I found the PU Super to have a nice tacky feel and it did pretty well as it got damp. I'm playing with a sweat band now and drying my hands with microfiber towels whenever I get a chance so hopefully I won't have to test what the PU Super is like when "Very Wet".

In fact I really liked the feel of the PU Super. After using the WhatAGrip I realize that I prefer a tacky grip and the PU Super is a little more tacky than the Volkl Super Grip II. And like the Volkl Super Grip II, it dried off really quickly. I played three games of singles and it was starting to get pretty wet. Then I took a short break and played two very casual games of doubles. By the time I started the doubles game it had dried off and returned to full tack and stayed tacky throughout the double games.

The downside for most people would be that it is absurdly thick (it is a replacement grip not an overgrip). It took my racket from a Yonex G5 (83mm) to G1.5 (94mm). I did a 5mm overlap because I like the ribbed feel so it would be less of a grip size change if you don't overlap. Or take off the factory grip (which I didn't do). This is actually feeling like a pretty good grip size for me, the G5 was way too small.

And I probably shouldn't have used the adhesive, I imagine that it's going to tear apart my factory grip when I take the PU Super off (necessitating that I buy another PU Super and try it as a replacement grip :D ).

Or absorb into the grip having the same heavy effect and an additional slippery effect. And don't forget the slippery effect of all of those drops of sweat that are flung onto the court :D

In the long run, if you sweat a lot, you are at a disadvantage, you either have more grip problems or have you to wear a sweatband and face the consequences. Like I said the 1" sweatband felt more comfortable to me, but it may not provide enough sweat protection for a fast and furious singles game.

Firstly, I'd like to say thanks to Dinker Dan for this great thread. :D

Secondly, I was wondering why there isn't a similar thread for replacement grips? I'm assuming I should just go with the same company for the overgrip I choose?

    1) Replacement grip usually run abour $6+ USD each.
    2) You can order the same replacement grip on your racquet if you need onw.
    3) They don't wear out as fast, so it will be a long time before Sir DinkALot or anyone to replace another replacement grip.
    4) The never gooder panda is waiting for you to contribute...:D
