Indeed! I wouldnt wanna try again to see if it does survive I'm not sure how these clashes happen so often though. I clash maybe once a year and it's usually minor. When I play with people I don't trust, I just let the bird fall, no way I'm gonna risk the integrity of my precious!
I am actually tempted to get one and try it out, but the durability of the frame is the ONE single thing that is holding me back. Imagine.... one accidental clash.... and there's your money down the drain....
I totally agree with you and that's what I said a while back when I was one of the first people in this forum to get the 5U FB. It's my favourite racquet right now and quite frankly I think I'm playing the best badminton of my life at the moment!
300km/hr? I just watched part of the finals and I think Ahsan's smash was about 250km/hr, which is still plenty fast.
That can be said of any racquet. It just depends on how hard the clash is and the angle. I've been using the 5U FB for months now and I absolutely love it.
Just finished the first ArcFB (6U) string job, and I have to say - it's no Voltric or Li Ning Was too afraid to turn on the 10% pre-stretch on a 13kg (28.6lbs) job, and it deformed a bit on the mains (just slightly more than an I-Slash). Gonna be interesting to see how well it holds up, the guy wielding it has a very good record with rackets so far (he still has an AT800DEF, which was also not known for its durability^^).
Really ? I felt quite the opposite! Most raquets I've strung at 28lbs tend to deform a bit during stringing, while the FB's shape stayed almost exactly the same.
It's not the worst racket I've strung, but it's lightyears away from the N90/N90II (just incredible) and Voltrics/other N-series I've had on my machine. I think durability is probably very similar to most Bravesword rackets, which are of normal weight but less stable shape. Broke 3 of those in roughly a year, with on unknown cause, one clash in defense, and one tap (can not even be considered a clash) when both went for a drop shot and lifted. The Braveswords also deformed a bit from 29-30 on, although I think they did just a bit better on the machine. The FB was pretty round for my standards. Definitely looking forward to my new side supports though

I'd be surprise if anyone here is able to get such information and post it here. At the end of the day, does it matter? I think we're all going to have different preferences when it comes to tensions.
After playing with the 5U FB for the past couple of months, I'm now seriously thinking of picking up a second FB, but 6U...
At the European Team Championships, CM had the hardest string of all competitors. The exact tension I'm not quite sure about - I heard it from someone who had talked to one of the stringers - but the number mentioned was 35lbs. But since I've seen pictures of MB's racket at the stringers asking for 34/35, maybe CM has them strung even tighter....ah well. It's not like anyone without a full Yonex sponsorship will be able to afford the number of FB's you'll need if you actually string them that hard
I did with my Li Ning Woods N90 II... I strung with a tension of 30, was really scared if it would crack or not but so far so good! nothing happened.. but there is one thing and that is, I dont know if that happens to everyone giving high tension to rackets or not but the smashing seems difficult with such high tension rackets. it gives a huge pressure on the wrist. i suffered pain for quite some days, later recovered from it.. its ok now... Dont know about others... thank you...
Never had any problem stringing my FBs at that tension. It holds tension better than a lot of rackets. Just dont hit it on anything but the shuttle, and try not to hit the frame
