Wow, there's a surprise - a doubles player using the N90. I didn't think any professional doubles players used the N90. By the way, where are you watching this, and can you please record and upload hehe. I'd like to see Peter Gade play. Also they lost the first set 18-21, and are losing the second set 9-19. N90? Hehe.
Wow, Jan O beat Peter Gade.. (both won this match one time each, but Jan O Won the last time ). jano Used N90 broke the strings one time.. Gade used his VT80.
Lee Yong Dae is getting his own signature racket - the Bravesword LYD. http://www.ttymq.com/viewnews-20722.html Not quite sure what new tech is going to be in it. Suppose to be "more accurate, more power, and more control". Im not so sure you can have all of it in one racket. I don't think its modelled after a current racket (like Yonex giving rackets a new paint job and calling them after its most prolific player), and so it should be an all-new racket. Lookwise, seems pretty average, nothing super flashy. Who knows. What do we think?
Whatever it is, I think his fastest smash barely hit 240km/h, hence the much longer rallies - his usual smashes used to hit 250-260km/h almost every time. He used to be able to finish the rallies much faster against anyone but Lin Dan and Chen Long. I think he's changing his style a little too - he's cutting the shuttle much more, using more drive shots than usual, and returning attacking shots higher more often, so perhaps he's using a less head heavy racket?
The shuttles used in Korea are quite slow.. But in general you are right.. Wan Ho Shon's smash seems to have more speed and that was also indicated on the speed-radar measurements on TV!! Maybe LCWs timing is a bit of with the prototypes? Perhaps he should consider a brand switch to OG.. to not spoil his chances?? Or just get YY to repaint LN or Victor top model :-D
No, I don't think so hehe. I'd rather he stuck with his VT80 - in the 2 most important tournaments of 2011, he beat Lin Dan in straight sets in All England final and held 2 match points in World Championship final playing with it. Can't get much better than that!
Also I don't think Victor make good singles rackets. Either that or the Koreans aren't very good at singles hehe.
Not too sure about SW35 at the top singles professional level. Who actually uses it? No doubt it's popular among amateur players.
PSH, it's similar to AT700/AT900P/VT80 which are used quite a lot by singles players. There just aren't a lot of good victor single players to expose their singles rackets
But it can get more better than SSF lost 16-21, 21-16, 18-21 vs. Long Chen CO lost 21-19, 12-21, 11-21 vs. LD HKO lost 16-21, 14-21 vs. LD 4K lost 19-21, 21-12, 20-22 vs LD DKO lost 15-21, 18-21 vs. CL JO lost 8-21, 21-10, 19-21 cs. CL Hopefully, otherwise he may not even get medal in OG!!
And I think those were his only losses of 2011 (note most were in 3 sets) - even LCW said it was the best year he has ever had. Either the VT80 improved his game, or he improved as a player overall (maybe a bit of both?).
