I think we might see an early retirement there

Truly a sad ending to a fairy tale beginning that all began in 2007.

their fate will be solidly sealed if Lim/Goh wins the MO tomorrow. what's better than to see a young Malaysian pair take the crown with their own eyes, BAM and the local fans will be reassured that the service of KKK/TBH with their lackluster performance will no longer be needed.

however, it will not be an easy task. whatever the outcome, it will give the fans something to cheer for, someone whom they, as one of the most diehard badminton fans in the planet, deep down, has a connection with.

^ It'll be a tall order to beat Chai/Hong today when the CHN pair has shown significant improvements. However if they seriously want to win it, they would have to play a flat game and not lift at all because of Hong. We shall soon see in 6 hrs time...

Disappointment is one thing, but world ranking at # 6 really isn't that bad either :S
I'm not sure what BAM is actually thinking, KKK/TBH clearly have the potential to reclaim the top spots, yet they insist that breaking up their #1 pair is the right thing to do.
I would think that a change in coaching staff to adapt a new play style would be more beneficial.
Take LCW as an example, he's always be consistent, tricky and fast. His slim build and lack of aggression was what made him not as good as LD pre-2008.
2009 rolls along, TSB starts with LCW and he rolls out with a completely different game. He uses his speed to attack, and mixes in his tricky play to keep people on their toes.

KKK's tricks are getting dull, and TBH's strong smash no longer cuts it.
The pair is smart and powerful, but the smart one isn't powerful, and the powerful one isn't smart.
Even though CY/FHF and Setiawan/Ahsan are similar in terms of setter/smasher combos, all the players are smart and powerful.

Unless KKK/TBH refuse to change, or find any new style that works, then break them up. I'd be unhappy to see such a talented pair leave after BAM's empty threats, and poor management.

    Very well put! :)

And even worse yet, the smart one is no longer smart and the powerful one is no longer powerful. That is the problem.

More like "let's see who can be the worse one more" syndrome.

Nothing impossible for Malaysian pair .... they have proved to the fans that they really wanted to win the tournament ..... and they won!

errr .... how about the provocation? Is it legal?

I think they will go independent. Still plenty of sponsors want to sponsor them even though they are players of the past. They will only become irrelevant if Goh/Lim wins the All-England or World Championships which they are not very likely to do so despite today's delightful win in a PSS

    Bad news for Koo/Tan.
Goh/Lim won the 2014 MAS Open.

    Finally!
I've not been following closely with the development of malaysian badminton for the past few years and was shocked to learn that kkk/tbh hasn't split up when I went to watch the 2nd round of MO.

I don't deny that they have the x-factor to become one of the top MD pairs. But the fact is they did not and are still not playing like what they could offer. No more lifeline please.
A split is good....for themselves, for the MD junior players, and for malaysian badminton as a whole.

There was a time when KKK/TBH and Fuzzy got sent to EVERY SINGLE Super Series outside of Malaysia for almost 2 years. Now, you can see finally see some result after Fuzzy left BAM almost 4 years ago in the form of HTH/TWK and GVS/LKW. If we free up another space by having KKK/TBH go independent, we might be able to see a third men doubles pair - Maybe Ow Yao Han, Chooi Kah Ming, Teo Kok Siang, Teo Ee Yi, Nelson - any combination of them.

There was once in FB where TBH responded to a comment saying what if they lost, they are still MAS no.1 pair and MAS still needs them... Now they deserve what's coming.

Why split them when they can be good sparring partners to the younger boys? Once split, BAM knows they will be gone :D Then, if anyone of them decide to coach somewhere, won't that be another TKH's saga? :D

it's ignorant to believe just because GVS/LKW won 1 tournament, then KKK/TBH deserve to be disbanded.
they still consistently get through further rounds than any of the other pairs
plus, there are plenty of one hit wonders, win once and they don't even get pass 2Round for the next year.
if BAM thinks it's a good idea to just snap at them after the other pairs each take a tournament, they should also be asking what took them so long to even win 1 tournament.

Totally agree with you, let them be, if they can't win, they can earn $$$, if they can sustain their lifestyle?
