I would like to see lin dan win all the superseries tournaments and the finals. if he does, he should win a prize, not just any prize of course, but you know some kind of recongition or something.. well too late this year, so he better do it next year before he gets too old!

i meant (and assume) from now on :p;)...but of course, Lin Dan is not the same player he was in 04, 05, nor 06, nor 07 ;):p:D...i beg to differ respectfully if you think LCW would win if they were to meet in the finals of MO anytime soon =]

Do you mean his popularity? Or Badminton's?

If his, i'm sure he could make a nice living coaching for the rest of his life.

And as for badminton's, it might actually increase ;)

It would be a very sad day for badminton if the retirement of someone like Lin Dan can only be learned from a badminton forum.

I mean LIn Dan popularity, If I am not mistaken LD is the no3 top athelte earner in China behind yao ming & that 110m hurdlers.

He earn about 10million RMB a year from advertisement & endorsement.

I dont think coaching can earn him that much.

We gotta be realistic, LCW is never gonna be up there with LD. LD is up there with the Rudy Hartonos, Liem Swie Kings etc.

But in years to come, say 20 years from now, people will still remember LCW ... as a nearly man. Yes, he thrilled thousands with his skills and all but when it comes to that big prize, he came out short.

And I think the Beijing Olympic final between LD and LCW will be remembered as a contest between a true master and a pretender.

pretender? Who is pretending?:confused::confused: Do you know LCW personally? Hopefully, you are not too childish to use newspaper news as a reference. ;)

I think you are the first person who would compare LCW with Rudy Hartono, Liem Swie King etc.

One country's best doesn't make him/her a "true master" or legend. LCW is all MAS has to offer at the moment. Live with it! :D

at that time i don't think lindan have leg injury, since he can win swiss open after AE. Lindan lose to Chen jin, to make sure Chen jin have enough point to qualify to Olympic..
