congrats to datuk lee for his 3rd japan open title...however he stated that he is sorry he can't attend lin dan's wedding dinner tonight.. he wishes them all the best
The recently concluded Japan Open where LCW outclassed Viktor 21-10, 21-12 was simply a whitewash game by SS standard. Viktor seemed unwilling to work at his match against LCW. Was he in awe and in fear? Or was he playing half-heartedly? It certainly wasn't the way he played while at the Olympics earlier. Nevertheless, it was a boring 1sided game.
I don't think viktor axelsen will be one of the top players in the future..hopefully Im wrong but judging from his matches, he is relatively slow compared to the top players ( maybe due to his height and size?) and he gets pushed off position easily..
i notice that too, he seems to be a step slower than LCW... maybe Victor need to strengthen his legs like Chen Long did
Nobody starts and is as quick as the fastest players with 17/18 He is still developing, physically as well, so there's a good chance he'll get faster. Also, his size makes him seem slower than he actually is (when LCW needs to take two steps and a huge jump 40cm off the ground, Viktor can take 1-2 steps and a jump 15-20cm off the ground and still hit the shuttle higher^^). Anyway, I think he is hugely talented (nobody else I can think of who did this well in SS tournament at his age since Taufik). And that is far more important than being quick from the start (look at Du Pengyu - he is super quick and fit, but nowhere near the top).
I like this video recorded similar to a bird's eye view of LCW's play of each match of Japan Open. The way the vid is compiled makes you think how a player needs to continuously think of where to play for the next shot even before the shots comes back to you. It is in many ways similar to a chess game, except here you are thinking in miliseconds. Why the need to think of the next shot? To create an opening to a killer shot which is not necessary a smash. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5k2SERV89Kw&feature=g-all-u
Initially the uploader of this video wanted to welcome their KPOP idol group from Korea, B1A4 and Apink from Korea at the airport. But to their surprise, LCW suddenly from nowhere came out from the arrival hall..The question mark is whether LCW took the same flight as those pretty ladies from A-Pink from Incheon or just a coincident of him coming back straight away from China from his badminton league?
For those who are interested, you can watch the match between 2 chong wei during the japan open here
Totally agree.. all our singles player must watch this video all over and over again everyday.. Make it as a must for them ..
Dear God, in alot of the rallies, LCW was literally idling for 2-3 seconds against the indian player waiting for a shot return... The gap in skill and performance between LCW and the rest can be summed up by the the listed attributes below, 1. Choice of shot 2. Quality of shot(accuracy and power) 3. Speed on court 4. Mental focus, strength and awareness at all times 5. Endurance(to maintain performance of all 4 stated attributes throughout the game) No disrespect to Ursain Bolt, but the game of badminton takes so much more than running as fast as possible in a forward direction. Its like trying to sum the sport of chess, golf with a sprinter. Amazing athletes....
watched some of his matches in japan open. he serve into net in every match i watched. i never saw this mistake in about let say 100 matches he played. this really indicate something.
It is official. LCW will get married this Nov, after 100 days of Wong Mew Choo's grandmother who passed away.
Heard from the radio station that there will 2 days of dinner. One halal and one non-halal. The former is to accomodate the PM amd his wife, I think.
