The 2008 WUBC.. ..ah-ha, i saw the clue on the top side of the picture. It's actually the WUBC (World University Badminton Championship) which was held in Portugal from May 5-10. And yes, it was this yr. And yes, Bona and Mohd won the MD title. A bit off topic-Actually.. ...the WUBC is the university version of the Asian & SEA Games. And no, it wasn't a 3 day event. There was a team competition (held earlier in the week) as well as the individual competition (the last 3 days). Guess which country won the team title? yes, China over THA. And the double winners is Kunchala Voravichitchaikul (THA). As for the individual competition winners: MS - Du Pengyu (CHN) over Liao Sheng-Shun (TPE) WS - Wang Yihan [yes, also affectionately called the Kitten & BCers new young WS sweetheart] (CHN) over Kim Munhee (KOR) MD - Bona Septano & Mohd Ahsan (INA) over Han Gi Hool & Han Tae Il [brothers??] (KOR) WD - Duanganong Aroonkesorn & Kunchala Voravichitchaikul (THA) over Yui Nakahara & Mayu Sekiya [keep an eye on this young pair, George] (JPN) XD - Patiphat Chalardchalaem & Kunchala Voravichitchaikul (THA) over Wang Chia-Min & Wang Pei-Rong [siblings??) (TPE) Also, in comparison to the Universiade, the competitors in the WUBC are actually REAL junior/college/university students...at least age-wise
Plus the fact that Hendra A.G./Joko Riyadi have been underperforming for so long must have made him a little bit upset So, Ko Herry IP still has Bona/Ahsan, AG/Joko (if they are yet to be split), and Edo/Lingga under him.

As far as I know there were 2 coaches..Sigit Budiarto from Djarum and Kurniahu ( tangkas) who coached this group for University championship..
well, i really hope ko herry wont quit...he had done really well with candra/sigit, candra/tony, tony/halim...hope he can do well with bona/ahsan btw, how old are they?from the picture, bona looks quite mature.
I think they are in 20/21 range.....Koh Hery is a tough coach but when he trains, according to Lingga/Joko...he is there to watch you and correct your movements so he does pay attention...I saw his training a few times...if you keep repeating same mistakes....expect harsh words...( I guess some of them cant take it and reason to move to other coaches)
Like Kido/Hendra and Luluk/Alvent Since losing to Koo/Tan in the Asian Games Individual Event SF, Kido/Hendra were on a lean spell in the first half of 2007 before they won the World Championships in August. I guess, that was during those period that they changed coach (now under Sigit Pamungkas).

^^Aahh..^^ ..the one that dived and rolled around, my eyes tell me the person is Bona Septano (w/short hair). Btw, is it me or does Bona look a bit like Markis Kido??(yes, know they are siblings; w/ the eyes, facial expression)..

yeah his smash is weak but i dont think he's the smasher though, is he?i've always thought bona was the hard hitter and ahsan as the net hunter...??
haha the way i see it, bona uses AT900 power while ahsan uses AT900 technique could that count?hahaha and perhaps ahsan was partnered with hendra at SC so that ahsan would gain more experience playing at the back?
The smasher (Ahsan, right?) must take extra caution whenever he smashes. Otherwise, he'll end up injured like Kido... (uh, thats' how he got his injury, right?)
If the coach partner Ahsan with Hendra, it means Ahsan is a back court player, n to make Hendra control the front court as usual..
