If some of you have noticed, the ryoga series comes with a wood colored handle which might have confused some people

actually beneath this wood colored composite is carbon fibre!

Apparently the ryoga's serie's shaft is continous straight into the handle and is fused a carbon fibre "pipe" that goes the full length of the handle. as dissected by 溜达 of badminton.cn

if u really like the shiden, i think you should try the 6000 pro,
i feel lt is faster and more stiff then shiden, china badminton forum

Finally have a chance to play with this racket yesterday. Racket has a really fast swing speed and is excellent for defense. I find the shaft is not as stiff as I thought it will be will. I would rate the shaft to be slightly more flexible than my TC700 or my 9000 Type X. Due to the swing speed , it took quite a bit of time for me to adjust. My primary racket is the TC700. Hard to say if the racket is more powerful than my tc700 at this point since I had not fully adjusted to the racket. But when times I hit accurately in the sweetspot, the racket generate a lot of shuttle speed and also gives me a bit better angle on my smashs( probably because it is slightly less stiff than my tc700). Overall I am quite happy with the racket, but will defintely take time for me to adjust. I am most likely switching to this racket for doubles since defending is quite a bit better compared to my other 2 racket.

The shiden and ZM72 is a sweet combo.:D

    Hi there,

Can you tell us where you have bought the racquets and for about how much? I cannot find anyone selling Gosen Ryoga series in Canada. Thanks!

interesting observation, i was using the stroke styles that i used to use on the mp99 with the issen and the issen feels superbly powerful and yet with good agility!..

apart from the slight head heaviness and a little bit stiffer, i think the issen is a good replacement for the mp99!
