Yeah too bad , saw him playing yesterday too much mistakes,
but coz he changed partner so he need to adapt more and change style coz ko sung hyun not hard smasher as JJS , so i guess Lyd change racket to give him more repulsive power??
    IDK, just my speculation

I own a BRS-LYD also feel that the red/yellow/white scheme on the new LYD racket is abit too funky ..

Not convince with new color.. In fact Lee Yong Dae is using BS12 after london Olympic. The Korea internal competition, Denmark open and the latest French open. I wonder what does Victor marketing team doing?

the 2nd gen BS LYD is officially called the BS LYD N.

the red color is actually not that bad if you look at the real life version.

the spec is supposedly the same as the previous generation, however, the new one measured a lot lighter. the old LYD is a top range 3U, while the LYDN is a bottom range 3U.

    I have a theory.

The last 6 months with JJS, JJS had been battling injury and not playing like the smashing god that he is, so LYD was using his signature racket because it's more head heavy than the old BS09 giving him more punch from the back court.

Now that he's playing with KSH (?) in MD, Ko is more of a back court player, so LYD is capitalising on this by going with the faster BS12 in his early matches with him.

    Sound plausible?

it is 2013 model so i guess it is 2013. but then the release of Victor racket is usually in stages. usually China/Taiwan gets early dibs on the new models and then afterwards it trickles to other further markets.

I believe Lee Yong dae use BS LYD because he is sponsor by Victor to use it, not cause JJS is injury.. so now he use BS 12, is maybe marketing purpose by Victor . Same aspect as Fu haifeng/cai yun use kason F9 /C7 rackets.

agree with Ferrerkiko, i suppose this is wat Victor marketing plan but seems like Lee Yong Dae like balanced racket for smoother control. but i just wonder Victor claim that the BS LYD is tailor made for Lee but now he stop using it..

and that conveniently the BSLYDN is now lighter than the old BSLYD seems to agree with that theory too!
