Hey so I just restrung my AT 900T from BG 65 23 LBS to BG 80 23 LBS

The 65 had probably dropped a few lbs so it was probably at around 21, i have a match tomorrow for school and i was wondering if it would feel significantly different or if i could get used to the strings in 20-25 minutes.

    Thanks

It'll be different but you shouldn't have much trouble getting used to it. Good luck in your match.

it will feel a bit different since BG65 has a soft feeling whereas BG80 has a hard feeling which needs to be strung 2lbs lower than usual.

Yes, it will. Just like what phandrew mentioned, the feel of the strings is totally different. I had a problem playing with bg80 when i changed from bg65, but well, i am back to bg65.:)

Hey guys, thanks for the help, i played the match and we ended up winning

BG 80 really had a completely different feel, but i got used to it during the game

This string really had a lot of feel and power, and i think im going to have a lot of fun using it in the future

Any recommendations on a good tension for BG80 (like does the string perform better at certain tensions)? I have a racquet strung with it at 22lbs and I'm not impressed. Admitedly I had been playing with MP at a higher tension (25lbs) but I had heard that BG80 was stiffer so I should use a lower tension.

It feels kinda dead to me. Less power, less feel. Should I have gone 25lbs on the BG80?

My own experience is that BG80 comes alive only 24lbs and above. I never tried 23lbs but I did have 2 Cab30 string at 22 and 24lbs and they played very very differently. My tension with BG66 at that time was 24lbs as well. I'm now playing 26lbs and still loving the BG80.
