On Day 3, we found Flandy Limpele/Halim Heryanto Ho defeating the top-seed, Richard Eidestedt/Andrew Ellis [1] (ENG), in the Mens Doubles.

On Day 4 (Quarter-Finals), Flandy Limpele/Halim Heryanto Ho was defeated by Tony Gunawan/Howard Bach [6].

    On Day 5 (Semi-Finals), we still have 4 top-seeds left, namely;
Mens Singles: Bao Chunlai [1] [IMG]
Womens Singles: Zhu Lin [1] [IMG]
Womens Doubles: Lee Hyo Jung Lee /Lee Kyung Won [1] [IMG]
Mixed Doubles: Lee Yong Dae Lee /Lee Hyo Jung Lee [1] [IMG]

Will these 4 top-seeds continue their journey to the Finals?

    Cheers... chris-ccc

Very much according to my prediction that Tony Gunawan/Howard Bach [6] will prevail. Today, they will be tested by Kenichi Hayakawa/Kenta Kazuno and I still fancy the ex-World Champs. They should face Lee Yong Dae/Shin Baek Cheol [5] in the Final on Sunday.

As for Flandy Limpele/Anastasia Russkikh, Flandy's experience will be crucial if they are to progress to the Final, facing Xu Chen/Zhao Yunlei [5] today. The odds are lower, but, I am still hopeful of an upset today.

2009 German Open MD SF: Tony Gunawan/Howard Bach [6] have arrived

    .
badMania ... Agree, Tony Gunawan/Howard Bach [6], being quite steady up to now, could possibly make it to the Finals.

However, Flandy Limpele/Anastasia Russkikh had a tough match yesterday, winning with scores 21-18, 13-21, 21-18. Hope that they would not be too tired today.

At SSF, I asked Flandy how come he has so many different partners and he said it's request through email. Looks like he's Mr Popular for MD and XD.

Yup, the same person who won All England and World Champion title in 2001 with Tony Gunawan.

Hmm, I only saw the end... but in that time, all I saw were unforced errors from LYD/LHJ... very silly errors :S. Maybe they're worn out.?

Actually ZB/MJ pair is not so strong only as we can see on the court. The korean pair made too much unforced errors today and they seem not to be in good form also. I would say ZB/MJ won the match because they are a bit lucky only :D

I think KOR were trying to save their energy for the rubber set, while making ZB tired, but they went too far with it. ZB looks advanced in his skills and the pair got stronger in partnership play. :)

Both LYD and LHJ are scheduled for another matches of MD and WD afterwards, while ZB only plays for XD.

The KOR coach is not LDS as usual, that would be another reason.
