Sorry to keep repeating myself, but I seriously can't praise the Tantrum 300 and Lethal 70 enough. An interesting phenomenon occurred in my session today though. For the first hour or so, I played with the Tantrum 300 and was getting some powerful drives, sharp power smashes, as well as consistent delicate play at the net. Then I changed to the Lethal 70 and it took me at least 15 minutes to adjust my technique slightly to get the booming power I know it can deliver. I think this is because the Lethal 70 is slightly stiffer than the Tantrum 300, and a bit more head heavy. It's interesting how a slightly different racket spec can play so differently!
Hi all, Under my own measurement, the little 4g BLUE cab will change the BCP 6-10mm back from the original BCP. How the player interpret this change into his playing style will depends on his skill and preference. LP21,22,23 are head heavy with the RED cab(1g). Overall racket weight will increase by 3g. This is simple maths. LP21,22,23 can't be MORE head heavy because the end cap will only move the BCP back to the handle. The other way, is take out all the weight so the BCP will move forward about 2mm. Depends on how sensitive of your hand, some players will never feel the diff. but it does not mean this mechanism does not work. Thanks
Thanks for a fairly objective statement. Going by your theory, it also sounds like you can achieve the same "mechanism" by making the grip thicker at the bottom of the handle. Personally, I still feel that this "mechanism" is barely significant.
Guys, I'm considering getting a couple more rackets. I already own these: Tantrum 300 Lethal 60 Lethal 70 Lethal Light Special (thinking of selling this one) I'm considering getting one or more of the following rackets: Lethal 90 Lethal 100 Slayer 88 Slayer 99 (2U or 3U?) Visible Hollow 2020. I'm not really sure which one(s) though. I tend to be a power player, but don't want the racket to be lacking in defense/fast drives too much. Any ideas?
Hi all, For players who want easy to use and powerful racket .... consider these 2 .... Slayer 95 .. weight : 82-85 gm flex : Medium Shaft material : 40T graphite with Nano Carbon tube 3K Woven carbon Blade X-section Frame Stern 330 Weight : 84 - 86gm Flex : Medium Aero-dynamic X-section 1.5k Woven carbon There 2 are designed for player who do not prefer STIFF shaft. Easier on the speed of swing. Fast on defense ..
Power is not a problem with these rackets ... Since they both have medium flex shaft ... You will have noticeable different from STIFF racket.
Decided to wait until the next Tantrum or Lethal racket (or next big thing) comes out before considering further purchases. Going to focus more on technique and footwork in the mean time!
hi there, im new to this forum.. i've bought 2 Apacs racket.. first is Apacs Lethal 9, and recently i bought Apacs Featherweight 200.. i love both of 'em.. different kind of racket wif different kind of style play.. hehe
ssj100, I'm loving the lethal 70 now.. I'm just finding it an all around solid racket. Took me a bit to get used to it but I'm using it exclusively now.
Good to know! If you have a strong arm and decent technique, your smashes will be lightning quick and very penetrating. It's also not a bad racket for defense and fast drives, which is surprising for a head heavy racket. In saying that, I'm finding that the Tantrum 300 is my "go to" racket now - it's just the most fun to play with and on average, my smashes are more powerful than the Lethal 70. However, I can get more powerful smashes with the Lethal 70, so I probably just need to work on technique. To be fair, I've been using the Tantrum 300 more often than the Lethal 70, so I've had more time to "adapt" to it. I rarely use my Lethal 60 now, even though it's pretty much identical to my Lethal 70. The strings on my Lethal 60 have become quite loose (probably about 24 pounds) and I prefer the higher tension on my Lethal 70 (26 pounds). I think my ideal string tension is 27 pounds, so when I next re-string, I'm going to ask for a tension of 25/27 pounds.
Any idea which apacs racket is closest in terms of spec and usage? I'm seriously considering the BS10/BS12 but still couldn't justify the high price. Currently using T200.
My T200 is 3U. I like the idea of the aerodynamic frame of the BS10. But also like the flexier shaft of the BS12...
The Lethal 90 has apparently a more "aerodynamic" frame. But does that make it a better racket? Maybe, if you adapt to it well. Seriously, it's mostly about technique. Here's a review on the Lethal 90: http://badminton-racket.blogspot.com/2010/08/lethal-90-review.html
