Boe and Mog can be proud of the fact that in spite of their gamesmanship reputation, they won this AE fair and square.

But the 2006 AE title won by Lungaard and Eriksen was achieved with some subtle (but easily analysed) help from AE officials.

LWW and CTF themselves are masters of mind games on court.

    but who`s the current number 1 now?
they might not be the most powerful, skillful or anything, but their combination and their dynamicism is top class. they work best as partner compared to other pairs based on current form.

How come you left KKK/TBH out? You mean the MAS MD s neither lethal nor skillful? How did they take out FHF/CY and MK/HS? Planets properly aligned two days in a row but misaligned on Finals day?

Advent of WCH = Open era?

I don't think the "open era" has the same definition for every sport. Some of them are bound to the amateur/professional issue and others have political implications (post WW2, fall of Iron Curtain etc).

My belief is that it is the introduction of official World Championship, 1977, which marks the beginning of "open era" in the history of AE (and badminton)

That was my initial thought as well but I remember reading it was already called All England Open before then (iirc that is) ....

Probably a good question for Gill Clark in the next broadcast ;)

After they surprisingly won the title at the BWF Super Series Finals 2011, I'm looking forward to the Copenhagen Masters. I don't expect them in the shape of the Finals, but let's see, how strong they are after the christmas break ;-)
