Had a frustrating time trying to book thru onePA since 10pm yesterday till this morning because of the ever problematic Portal Application Error. So I tried booking via icanbook. At first there were available slots for Queenstown Secondary School Hall between 3-7pm for 25Apr2010. When I clicked on the available time slots to book, the system gave me an error message saying something like "Last day booking quota exceeded". 25Apr is 2weeks from now; how can it be "last day"? Such a silly error! I phoned Technical Support and told the lady who picked up about the error. She viewed the same time slots but her side didnt show those errors, just certain time slots taken up. Told me to log out, close browser and try again. I did as what she told me to. This time round, all slots are booked. Also told her that i usually book using advanced search. She told me to use basic search. So when i use basic search, all results still showed as fully booked. But her side showed as available. Strange! She told me to do Print Screen of the resulting search. I did that and emailed to Technical Support. They are now trying to find out whats really wrong.
there's a saying, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Last time I had the same problem. I didn't know it can do cc booking? They said cannot at that time.
I book CC via onePA and not via icanbook. Although one can book CC via icanbook but the system still requires onePA login to book. I just phoned Technical Support of icanbook to tell them about the earlier problem i had. The Customer Service guy I spoke to explain to me the policy of 14day advanced booking, that we can only book "1court 2hr" (only 2slots) if doing 14day advance booking. We can book more than 2slots if doing <14day advance booking. And as a consequence of my 2slots quota being reached, I cannot book anymore new slots. All slots appear to me as "fully booked", which is silly because they could have shown me a message that my quota have been reached and so cannot continue to book. So that explains why I am getting problems which we dont understand.
how long does it take to register as a user for Icanbook? i register for 2 month already , it say will be pending for approval. yet no reply from them.
you need to submit a scanned copy of your NRIC for verification before you get approval. mine was approved within a day after sending the document.
i think the purpose is to prevent some folks from creating multiple accounts to hog all the slots. but then again, you can always use other ppl's ICs to register. of course the existing system prevents ALOT of slot-hoggers, unlike the previous system.
wa liao , still have to sent copy of ic. i think serve no purpose. i also can photocopy other people ic. just make sure visa payment is same as reg acc name. using Singpass more better. realli make ppl mafan.
if i remember correctly, i submitted my IC twice due to the exact same reason. i know its pointless and mundane, but i suspect its just one of the many many bugs in the system. just re-submit and hopefully they wont "bug" you again.
After you submit your IC, the SSC staff will review and verify your IC. It takes about 2 days for completion. If more than 2 days, I think you need to call their hotline.
wah, until today still got so many problems ??? well, i got my problem too. after login at 7am. i selected the wrong venue, and by the time it was corrected all the courts were gone at 7.07am. just imagine that.
Just my 2 cents based on my experience in dealing with IT projects: 1. The hardware vendor does not have real life experience on internet traffic. They do not even know how to size the hardware specification correctly. They always think new CPU and SAS drive are enough to meet the requirements. 2. Servers are normally not optimized. They run out of the box without any optimization and tuning on web, database server and other services. 3. They tend to forget that server time may get out of sync after certain period of time. That's why there are many instances that you are still unable to book after 7AM. 4. The application is normally developed by group of students / junior staffs who lack of expertise in the programming language itself.
Just to add on, not to forget that some of those so called (manager or team leader) don't even know on how to use a forum and update their virus definition
