    Prediction:MM to beat AW

I am 99.9% certain that If all 5 games are played, the score will be 3-2. Since winner is first team to reach 3 points, it will either be 3-1 or 3-2 to MM or 3-2 to AW.
AW will be hard to beat on doubles and maestro Markis Kido should grab 2 points. MM are stronger in men's singles and they get 2 points regardless whether they play Zweibler or Ivanov in other singles. So really the crunch game that decides the whole match is the Women's singles. There is talk that MM may play Thulasi vs Sindhu to allow Zweibler and Ivanov because of max 3 foreign players rule but that would be suicidal. Thulasi have almost no chance against Sindhu. Baun lost in rubber to Sindhu in earlier meeting so MM best chance is to stick with her.
IMHO, MM should tweak lineup from last meeting to boost their chances to maybe this:
    MS1-LCW
    WS-TB
    MD-Reddy/Attri
    MS2-Zweibler
    XD-LCW/TB
This should be a much more exciting and close match than the letdown last night. It will not be early night and the backroom staff will not be packing their bags early for sure.
MM should nick this and scrap thru. They are hungrier and have more to prove after being worst qualifier losing more matches than they won. They are destined for Bollywood final on 31st where SRT, SRK,Aamir, Deepika will be waiting. Mumbai Indians won IPL this year so it is fitting that MM do same with IBL. :)

Lcw is most likely to win

    Women single, 50/50

    Men doubles belong to kido/boe

    Ms2 50/50

    Mix double 60/40 kido

For the seek of fans, and also to allow players to have more competitive matches, I hope the IBL should consider for next year to play all 5 matches (even if winner already decided with 3-0 score line).
IBL already twigged the scoring system, so why not also twigged the mandatory 5 matches even if the outcome (assuming 3-0 or 3-1) already known. The Fans and Advertisers (and players) will get the greater enjoyment.

That's what happen in Thomas cup 1992, where malaysia already won 3-1, but still have 3rd single to play. That last match was played without passion and the crowd start leaving, not many people left to celebrate the prize presentation.... I don't think it's a good idea

I wonder is this allowed for MM lineup:-

    MS1 - LCW
    MS2 - Ivanov
    WS - TB
    MD - LCW/Ivanov
    XD - Ivanov/TB

Read somewhere that the rule only says No more than 3 foreign players per tie and no more than 2 matches per player in a tie. Hence, if they play Ivanov in lieu of Zweibler, Can they play LCW/Ivanov in the MD too :)
Just a thought to make them more stronger... hehe :p

If Lcw is allowed to play two singles, I am confident he can win both

MM has to throw everything including the kitchen sink at AW

I agree that is not good idea. Most people would rather watch only 3 games rather watch all 5 games in a 3-0 scenario. Especially when 4th and 5th games are late games and players are not playing their best. Bit like the Ajay-Jan O game (HH v PP ) other day when Ajay more or less gave alway the game and Jan O was pissded off. The commentators came to Ajay's defence at first saying that Ajay appeared to be nursing an injury.
But last night after Ajay thrashed Nguyen, commentators said that maybe his performance previous nite against Jan O was bit of gamesmanship and an attempt to conserve his energy

No, cos each foreign player cannot play more than 2 games so Ivanov will not be allowed to play 3. In addition, it may not be physically possible and Ivanov may have to play on a stretcher in last Mixed Doubles :D

Yes actually strategically, MM should throw everything (including the kitchen sink ) at HH. cos on paper, AW is favorite since Sindhu has edge over TB in WS. MM should have 2 points in bag from the 2 Mens Singles so their best chance of winning this is to crack marksman Markis. It is extreme but they should throw LCW and Ivanov into both doubles probably Ivanov/Reddy for MD and LCW/TB for XD. That should improve their chances quite a bit as Ivanov has the height advantage and LCW can be intimidating. Markis and partner will start as favorite in both doubles but at least MM try different strategy cos sticking to same 2 doubles lineup may mean another threashing. So the extreme lineup will look like this
    MS1-Ivanov
    WS-TB
    MD-Ivanov/Reddy
    MS2-LCW
    XD-LCW/TB

That would mean LCW will play back to back games instead of having at least 1 game rest in between. May be taxing but he should be able to cope if he finishes his singles game in straight sets.
Importantly Ivanov and LCW win the 2 points in singles first before they try their luck in doubles

Actually technically he should be able play both singles since I do not see rule that specific that cannot play 2 of same type of game :) Against AW singles players, he should have no problem winning both. But it does not make much difference cos they need to win at least 1 double to win whole thing. :D

Or Award a third position on the basis of the semi finals result and let the teams play for price of being at the podium.

I think Playing Ivanov at singles is too risky. He isn't that good, If they play Marc and LCW that is Mumbai's best chance of securing 2 points. Then they just have to hope Tine can beat Sindhu this time. No combo Mumbai have is going to beat boe and kido, and if Kido plays with Pia at mixed I can't see any combo taking that either.
