wow... excellent reply, however i like some of the indian ladies comments like Jwala Gutta & Partners & also sania... They simply SPICED things up, heat up the rivalry, make the badminton scenes more interesting, have to learn from WWE !!! sport is entertainment... what more entertaining than intense rivalry .... rivarly on & off court is great for the sports !!!
Even LXR cannot stop herself from making "spiced up " comments. According to some reports, when LXR was asked to comment about SN's proposal to limit the Chinese players, she replied that SN should beat her (Li Xuerui) first, and then she would speak more. She also added that not only chinese are not the only ones who are her problem. Rivalry is building, more between fan-groups than between players.
if everyone take all these comments in good faith, its actually spice things up and fans are more eager to see their next match, espiacilly SN vs LXR. These are all marketing tactics, see how WWE & Boxing market their matches... lot of trash talking.
Sindhu's weaknesses and limitations were cruelly exposed by an inspired Carolina Marin at the World Championships semi-finals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YEx6lW7B7o&list=UUhh-akEbUM8_6ghGVnJd6cQ In her case, I believe it is Sindhu's physical and technical drawbacks that affect her mental condition. Once it is apparent that an opponent can target her drawbacks, she loses composure and some confidence in her own abilities. How much this means to her, and how personally she takes these beatings can be seen on her face, often close to tears by the time the match finishes. On the flip side, she has never looked so pretty and lovely as she has at these World's. Against players with a more attritional style of play however, the come-back kid has given some of her most stellar and memorable performances, leaving everything she has on the mat and somehow emerging standing from the charnel. Like the classic R16 brawl with Bae Youn Ju. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVP2yEJ-s7k
Sindhu's biggest hurdle , carolina marin in the second round of Upcoming Denmark open has withdrawn from the tournament. She may meet sung ji hyun or akane yamaguchi in the quarters provided she crosses the first round against yippy.
I thought Sindhu did well in the WC. But I was disappointed with her in Asian games. Loosing to both Bae and Manuputty. May be the doubles put too much pressure on her.
Which Indian channel will show the Denmark open? Scorpion1, can you give a link to the draw? And I STILL can't find the edit button. Where is it? I see only 4 buttons - reply, reply with quote, multi-quote & report post.
OK, found the draw and here it is for those who don't have an excel viewer: https://sheet.zoho.com/view.do?url=http://www.bwfbadminton.org/file.aspx?id=598799&dl=1 Sindhu's opponents, assuming she gets past them, are likely to be Marin, Sung-ji-hyun, Li Xuerui and Wang Yihan - in that order. Saina's are: HanLi(or Mitani), Wang Shixian, Wang Yihan Li Xuerui - in that order.
Looking at Sindhu's draw more closely, there is a good chance that Akane Yamaguchi , instead of Sung Ji Hyun, will be in that round. Isn't she the junior champion? Though Sung is still probably the favourite. Also, Yip Pui Yin is not an easy opponent.
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dnkt4HasNU8 sindhu was presented with a car(ford eco sport) for her bronze in world championships again in 2014. She is the first indian to win 2 medals in consecutive years.
The button for edit option will appear only for your post alone and that too will be available for 15 mins only.
http://m.timesofindia.com/city/bang...-says-BWF-chief-Lund/articleshow/44773633.cms Excerpts: "Players are the ambassadors. Saina is not only a great badminton player on the court. She is great for badminton off of it as well. She understands what a player can do for the sport" said thomas lund. "We had the pleasure of having sindhu for a promotional shoot here and it was great to see indian community came here to watch her and support her. So there is a definite impact that these stars can have".
OK, this time the edit button is really there! But I can promise that it wasn't there before. BTW, which Indian Channel is broadcasting the Denmark Open?
Congrats to Sindhu. She played really well. Kim Hyo Min is a far far better player than her ranking would suggest. She might break into top 15 within a year.
what happened to Sindhu? She withdrew from many tournaments it seems. Injured? If so, when she will return to playing?
