    Good one! But I think when all the backup players are older, they'll practically be KBHs.

    its not myth.. its called hope and it needs a certain kinda of courage to hope because you will face anger, disappointment and dismay.. many lose hope and start to turn against their players. or search other places .. (good example malaysian football)

    we hope because many of these players never gave up,despite all the brickbats thrown at them .. that alone deserves our support. not blind fanatic support, but intelligent and rational support.

    no matter how daunting the odds are. we will continue hoping..

    well . .we cannot put a time limit on hope. if we do . its not hope. its expectation.. nobody owes us another chong wei ( thats expectation).. we have a lot of talent. who knows one day another chong wei will rise from this pool of talent (thats hope)

    u see hope or expectation in those fans?
    read again
    this thread
    hope?expectation?

    how about big name in bam,nsc and nsi?
    read their comment more often
    they hope or expectation?

    yes
    lcw set a new height for mas ms
    wmc set new height for mas ws
    koo/tan set new height for mas md
    wong/chin set new height for mas wd
    in all of this,the height that lcw set is the hardest to climb(because he is most successful)

    no graph can always up and no down
    when u hit a new height
    probably u will down in the curve before u get up again.(the nearest example:koo/tan uphill/downhill thread)

    malaysian singles is looking bleak really if we are talking bout somebody to fill LCW's shoes (they're pretty big shoes to fill) but there's tremendous hope for the doubles esp when the top pair's only 23 and 25. But if LCW is another PG who knows...that's like 6 to 7 years down the road.......

    If WCH also BAM had desperately called back to fill up the 3rd single post in this year 2010 TC.......i can imagine:rolleyes: the scenario what will happen once our Datuk LCW has retired and BAM is still struggling to fill the gap if he retire after the 2012 Olympic......This will happen in the future 2014:

    While enjoying his day as a retired badminton player, Datuk LCW, who his currently having a vacation in Hawai;) received a call from BAM, Datuk Na.....(you know who:p)
    " EErrrrrrrr Datuk............it has been 2 years now............eerrr, any chance for Datuk to play 1st single in this year TC?............again..........just asking hehe.........":D:D:D:D:D

    The immediate future looks bleak indeed. LCW was in the MO final at 21. HH won the AE at 21 also. WCH won CG gold at 21in 98 beating senior Yong HK. CLong at 21 is now top ten. Tago too. What happend to M'sia back up at the 23-24 age or those at the 21 stage ?

    Tan Chun Seang won Vietnam & Singapore Sattelite title when he was 21.

    Other than him, sorry manggali.

    Maybe Misbun's son will be able to replace Dato Lee.

    His father is coach. His beloved uncle is Head-Coach CUM former World's No.1. His other uncle was Former No. 1 MD'S. His another uncle was natioal player, although not famous. And, his aunty also national player.

    Without any potential single player now and once Datuk LCW has retired, it seems the waiting list for Malaysia supporters to see glory in major tournaments in near future will be like:

    - To win WC = Decades
    - To win Olympics = Decades ++
    - To win All England = Decades
    - To win AG = Decades ++
