In the Women's Team, Denmark beat Germany 3-1, while the host Netherlands also strolled to a 3-0 win over Scotland. They will meet in the Final tomorrow, booking their places in Jakarta for the Uber Cup.

The playoffs will pitt Scotland against Germany, with Germany the overwhelming favorite to take the last spot.

Asian teams should now be relieved as I believe the fourth-placed team will surely rank better than Scotland

A strange lineup for Poland as they rested their 3 key players for today's match against England and ended up losing 0-3 easily

It look's like they are looking for a bitter battle against Germany for the last spot in the Finals in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, Germany themselves is holding on as they just won the first MD, with Roman Spitko/Michael Fuchs beating Jens Eriksen/Martin Lundgaard Hansen in straight sets 21-19, 21-13 .

It will be tough for Poland tomorrow....and Wacha+Logosz/Mateusiak MUST WIN their matches at all cost and steal the third singles or second MD!

lmao ... :D. Apparently the only reason there were cameras yesterday is to do a story on Yao Jie but there was a brief highlight on tv later that day (1 minute max). Didn't see a camera at all today but could be because I arrived fashionably late ;). A noon start for semi's  (and QF I might add ) ... ridiculous.

In case you haven't found out by now Jie has a minor knee injury and apparently for the finals a new #3 might have to play also because of a minor injury ...

D*mn still on page 2. Don't want to post to many pics on the same page ...

Denmark beat Germany 3-1, but, not without a scare though  They will meet England in the Final today.

Both Peter Gade and Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen were forced to rubber-sets by Mark Zwiebler and Kristoff Hopp/Johannes Schoettler. This bodes well for Germany today, facing Poland in the playoffs.

As I mentioned, Poland DEFINITELY will rely on Przmyslaw Wacha and Michal Logosz/Robert Mateusiak to win the first two points, but, these will be tough matches against Bjoern Joppien and Roman Spitko/Michal Fuchs.

The third point will be hard to come by as Mark Zweibler and the second doubles should have an edge. The key decider might be on the third singles, with both teams fielding unknown players  It will be a nail-biter!

    Hmm...the reds shall rule..

..is it me or does the Danish' team's red-colored team attire remind me of CHN's red-colored team attire...I guess they want to be the European version of CHN, eh??..Although, the German's squad is also trying to mimic the same red attire..:p

    agree with badMania:

    my PAW´s

pick01: Wacha over Joppien, both Players from Langenfeld, know each other well, Wacha wins
    pick02:Logosz/Mateusiak to win over Spitko/Fuchs
pick03: Zwiebler to take it (he should play first MS and also beat Wacha)
pick04: second double should be taken by Germany
    pick05: Roman Spitko? wins

For men's team, Germany had beaten Poland 3-1. For women's team, Germany is leading 2-1 at this moment. I think Germany can beat Scotland.
