Must be a German speciality. I like this one too! Let's hope that Schenk's game won't fall apart like so often in these kinds of situations.
Juliane has a chance. She has been consistently good, especially in the few months. I think WYH just returned from injury, plus China team went through intensive training in Jan & Feb (tired??), and her form now is not as good as during Olympics 2012. Their last 2 encounters went to 3 sets, each winning one. JS won all her matches here in 2 sets, whereas WYH was taken to 3 sets (against SJH in SF). I will go for JS to win based on her current form and home ground advantage. I will be cheering for JS, this is good for greater badminton exposure in Germany (& Europe).
Tommy showing he too can attack well, probably knowing a rallying game against Chen Long won't do. Should be a cracker of a match, exciting to watch.
Chen Long's backhand is very effective, both smashes and drops. Tommy is playing better than I've seen him before though he lost G1.
Chen Long has the bad habit of slackening whenever he has a comfortable lead, esp when he's already a game up, thus allowing his opponent to narrow or close the gap.
2nd title for CHN, Chen Long def. Tommy Sugiarto, 21-17 / 21-11. Well, Tommy has delivered best performance in first game. Chen Long found his rhythm in game two, more attacking with super smashes and Tommy started to produce unforced errors.
The Dragon stamps his class with an emphatic straight set win, 21-17 and 21-11, all the more convincing because Tommy didn't play badly at all, on the contrary, remarkably better than I expected from him. Must be somewhat intimidating and frustrating for Chen Long's opponents, generally speaking - with his height and reach, he is everywhere and making his opponents feel it's difficult to get the shuttle past him.
With all due respect to the finalists, only the WS event is exciting me, the other events are kinda predictable.
^^ Yeah me too, all the best to Jules Tommy is doing the best he can and this is the best he can reach at his level atm Tbh, I want Anders/Julie to bag their first title as well
