    Evening,

I'm have problems trying to find a suitable pair of badminton shoes.

I've tried Yonex SHB-101M and an an Asics pair (don't know model details) and had a good look around the shop. Generally from what I've come across, the shoes have been too narrow and were very uncomfortable.

I'm not sure the best way to present the info but I'm a UK size 8 with a width of 10cm at the widest part.

Can anyone suggest some names/models? I am not bothered about how good they look and would rather pay for comfort.

    Thanks

I've also had problems with regular shoes, due to my wide flat feet.
My US size 8.5 is 11 cm at the widest part!

Ultimately, I heard about the Yonex SHB200's which is a wide model. Tried it and immediately bought it. Two years later now and wondering why I didn't get it earlier... :D

My feet are US 10 in size and 10.5cm at the widest. I wear the Yonex JP Wide 4E shoes (SHB80W, SHB200WM and SHB81WM) which just fit my feet comfortably (no extra room). I had the SHB200EX before (same recommendation from everyone saying that it is a wide model) and they hurt my feet. The SHB200EX is certainly NOT a wide model.

I have no idea how you can fit your feet into them :p

I suppose when I wear my orthotics (which I do when I play in the shoes), my feet are not as wide as when I measured it flat on the ground.

Yes, the WM version (only available in Japan) of the 200's is 4E, whereas the EX version (available worldwide) is only 3E. But the 3E is good enough for me, whereas none of the regular width Yonex shoes would fit me.

SHB101 and Asics in general are narrower shoes.

you need to try SHB200, or Victor (Wide) models, or Mizuno (Wide) models.

Agreed. At first I thought it was just the lateral claws and I could break them in... it's hard going though. I much prefer to wear my SHB200's. Even my old pair of 65CF were more comfortable...

SHB91/92 should be a little wider as well than 101 ...

I used to wear US10/JP 28cm for the older yonex models (SHB89, SHB99LTD etc) but started to wear half size bigger now (US10.5/28.5cm) for the new models. I bought a US10.5 SHB80W from shuttlehouse last year and it just fitted nicely.

Reckon the new yonex models are narrower at the front (its unlikely my feet have expanded).
