absolutely! but it will become better if 1: i use a longer and faster lens. 2: i use a fisheye lens. 3: the object is bigger. 4: i am closer to the object. 5: i use the centre focus point. 6: i drop my camera along with a lens once!!!!!!!!! darn! i dropped my mk3 along with 16-35mm 2.8 on to the ground just before an assignment yesterday! the filter was totally shattered! luckly, in stead of the broken filter. eveything seems to be alright! i didn't know why but the photos look really sharper than before after that incident! perhaps the cmos sensor was back to the film plane perfectly!
I remember you said the pics had a red cast as well. This seems to be due to the digic III processing into jpegs. RAW images processed don't have the same problem. Hmm, looks like I can take another look at the Mark III after all! All I have to do is drop it on the floor.
nice pics whoopty! can u tell me more about your color shots? how do u achieve those "fading colors" like effect? by using photoshop or adjusting the white balance to a designated K for each individual shot?
You can adjust individual channels using curves in photoshop, which is what I used to do. Now I use AlienSkin Exposure 2 to get that film look.
Before all the pomp & circumstance...and those flowers come to life.. ...in the city of Pasadena, CA......along the Colorado Blvd. where, arguably, the world's biggest & well known rose (and flowers) parade will take place in a matter of hours.... *some shots of the city hall and its holiday decoration..
Happy New Year everybody! I'd like to know where these items can be got as well. I can see a 1D in there
Opening up the new year with roses (and other plants)... ..nope, there were no fireworks to watch live, but took some time to kick off the new yr & enjoy the festivities at this yr's Tournament of Roses Parade. For those who are not familiar with this grand event, it is an annual tradition for the city of Pasadena and is currently being called "America's New Year's Day" celebration (already more than 100 yrs). An event which culminates in the Rose Bowl Game (also a long tradition, which pits the nations top colleges in American football), which is also played @ the Rose Bowl (multi-purpose stadium). Here are some pics to share of the performers, musicians, riders, dancers and live animals from this yr's parade. More pics here: http://www.slide.com/r/cc5lbvlm7T_A...previous_view=mscd_embedded_url&view=original This yr's Rose Parade's theme.. This yr's Rose Queen, Courtney Lee of Arcadia High School, and her Royal Court.
The Rose Parade floats...for those who love roses and flowers... ...watching it on TV is definitely not the same as seeing it live, in person. Behind those floats, are the brilliant minds of the designers, engineers, decorators, float operators and diligent volunteers. Truth be told, some of the floats don't even have any sponsor but they still made their way into the show. Some pics of the floats and those intricate yet creative ways they've assembled & decorated the floats....Being made basically from styrofoam & wires, the outer finish materials vary from roses to mangos, yep, mangos.... And guess what, they are already working and planning for next yr's edition...enjoy!.. Remember the elephant clothing....Our Oldhand is most likely familiar with this.. Guess whose nose does this belong to? Guess what creature is this? Look closely..remember who this belongs to? Yup, those are real (dried) mangos and crushed rice making up that ice cream bar... Hot dog, anyone?
Yup.. ..not that i was hungry, but i did ask one of the float personnel, who was there to answer questions from the viewers, if the mangos are still edible... *They parked the floats along a couple of huge streets, at the end of the parade, for public (pay) viewing (usually will last for 2-3 days)... ..lucky you...okay, Cheung wants to see more of the Queen.. I think she is the 5th Rose Queen to be from an Asian/Asian-American ethnicity.. She is also the 2nd Arcadia High School Senior, in a row, to be named the Rose Queen after another Arcadia H.S. Senior, Dusty Gibbs, also was crowned last yr's Rose Queen. I have been busy.... :crying::crying: At the moment, we are listening to Andrea Bocelli! mixed with baby crying
From one who is delivering babies tonight, to one who just had one: CONGRATULATIONS! 7lb 12oz is a decent size. Cute too!
Tell you something funny - an epidural was in place and the change over of shift occurred. The new midwife said Hi to me quite casually. Then something clicked. "oh, you are the father..", she then said . Then the paediatrician came along and said exactly the same thing.
It's funny when the shoe is on the other foot, isn't it. Or more correctly, when the doc is at the other (head) end of the bed! What a beautiful blessing for your New Year! If this is your firstborn--and the Andrea Bocelli as soothing music makes me think it could be---good luck with the whole crying thing.
