Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 08-May-2011 (A Short Report) . Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 08-May-2011 (A Short Report) At this CCC CATS, we worked on Singles High Service using proper Follow-through. Hope that our trainees will remember; * The importance of how the racket-face is 'Shining'. * How to lead the racket face to the direction required. * Try steadier balance without transfer of weight (body weight on non-racket foot). * Correct grip used; with control from index finger. * How the wrist control/action is causing unwanted slicing. * Adjusting one's serving position instead of adjusting one's power. * etc. etc, ...... We organised target-shooting/landing for the High Service. It's great that Helmut-H and Shaoqi-C could score more than 50% of Services wiithin 0.5 metre from the target area. KeChong-K needs more practice in timing the throwing action of the shuttlecock. Lunch was held at the Tia To, a Vietnamese restaurant at Crown. http://www.crowncasino.com.au/tia-to .
CCC CATS at MSAC on Sunday 15-May-2011: Court No.4, 10am to 12noon . Hi CCCers, Please be informed that for our CCC CATS on Sunday 15-May-2011, we shall be at our usual time: from 10:00am to 12:00noon, and located at our usual court: on Court No.4. Do always check this info thread regularly. This is because there are so many events happening at MSAC; that we can receive late changes to our CCC CATS program at the very last moment. There is a suggestion from helmut telling me that it's best for me to suggest which chapter/topic to teach based on what I find is lacking amongst our trainees. IMHO, the basics are most important. In our next session, we shall cover 'Footwork' together with decision for the correct 'Selection of shots'. .

Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 15-May-2011 (A Short Report) . Sunday CCC CATS at MSAC on 15-May-2011 (A Short Report) We welcomed Serena-G (from China) attending our session for her first time. At this CCC CATS, we worked on Footwork. Hope that our trainees will remember; * The importance of how we transfer our weight from one foot to the other. * How the counting of our steps is based on our counting of our weight transfers. * Trainees need to move faster after getting familiar to the recommended movements. * The use of our non-racket arm to balance ourselves is most essential as we move. * etc. etc, ...... First, we organised footwork for moving to the front and to the back. Later, we moved diagonally (using the full court). Shaoqi-C will need to move much faster. Ke Chong needs more practice in the art of running backwards. We didn't get time for the lesson: 'Best Selection of Shots'. We shall do it next week. Lunch after our session was held at In 2 Noodles, a Malaysian restaurant at South Melbourne. http://www.my247.com.au/melbourne/In-2-Noodles.12290 .
